Guys i just bought black ops... Should i play through the campaign or try the multiplayer?
Play the singleplayer and then multiplayer.
What? No, play the singleplayer first. Why the fuck would you not play the singleplayer first?
Just asking.. But i'm just going to try multiplayer for a little bit just to get the feeling of it [editline]20th November 2010[/editline] By the way does there exist any working lagg fixes.. i mean my frame rate's dropping alot .. and i have all required stuff to play the game.. if there is any working fix please link me
got to round 17 with a friend on kino. the only reason is because he got the ray gun and the thunder gun. I got the ray gun too but, I was dropped immediately because we were surrounded.
I made round 22 wuth 3 friends.
Seems like they're benefiting people buying their games on consoles. PC is like the stranger you don't want to talk to, but have to to get some sort of thing out of it. The recent patch is just like that, released it, fucked more things up and in the end fucked over more PC gamers. Fuck you Treyarch, you already get millions and billions of money, but fuck you.
/r_multithreaded_device 1 /r_multiGpu - set to 1 if you have SLI'd/Crossfire'd GFX cards, 0 if not Pretty much solved it BEFORE the patch, recent patch improved framerates for me. Stop crying with your bad analogies.
I started the singleplayer and it stutters so much that I can't get out of the bar.
Everything works alright for me. Althrough I must admit the first part of the Castro mission was the most retarded scene in CoD ever.
AI also think enabling players to forgo the use of conventional weapons in favor of sprinting around the map like a cocksucker is similarly retarded. I was in a match last night where some faggot on my team literally looked like he was flying around the map, he was moving so fast. It's like: "Treyarch, you dumb sons of bitches, multiplayer isn't some stealth game where you run around stabbing people with a knife." Its an action game, and having fags run around at mach 10 with knives, or pancake people hitting prone as soon as they see someone disrupts the flow of what would otherwise be a decent action multiplayer. Knifing shouldn't be a fucking rabbit punch- it should be an animation like the throat-cutting in singleplayer, or some equivalent. Anything to slow it the fuck down, and at least reduce the number of knife faggots. It's like two different games are trying to coeexist at the same time: a fast paced button masher, and a moderately paced quasi tactical shooter. DOESN'T FUCKING WORK. /rant
Problem, Framperton?
The stutters got worse after the update for me.
Problem, Framperton?
Those were fun weeks Agoat.
Make knife it's own weapon. instant kill backstab 2 kills normal only meant for humiliation kills and very very very last resort
Problem, Framperton?
Damn. When I found out about this glitch it was too late. Wish I could have tried it for my self. :saddowns:
Because you = everybody, right? It ruined my FPS, I can't even play, and I have those config changes done already.
If you're still getting FPS drops and have done that (as well as disabling shadows and vsync) then report it on the COD forums. Have you even read pcdev's Twitter?
Because you = everybody, right? It ruined my FPS, I can't even play, and I have those config changes done already.
This. I know it's all been said before, but my rig runs MW2 maxed out and a lot of other recent games perfectly fine with about 50FPS at minimum. My internet is perfectly fine too, thank-you very much. I don't understand where this stuttering bullshit comes from. It's not lag or FPS issues, it's STUTTER. The game has lots of mini-freezes and bigger game stalls every now and then, the audio is crackly and spotty, and the hit registration is non-existant. It's seems like a problem with the CPU; most likely the rendering of sound [I still have as much clue as anyone else].
Pretty much solved it BEFORE the patch, recent patch improved framerates for me. Stop crying with your bad analogies.
I fucking hate it when people come in and say shit like this. Thank-you for your suggestion about the config, really. But I have already tried that, and spent an entire day fiddling with game/graphics card/sound card settings to see if something works. At the moment, I've found nothing. It's clearly not our fault that the game is broken for us, and yet we get blamed by people who's game miraculously works perfectly for them. That really irritates me, and the fact that they take their smooth, working game for granted, and that somehow their "superior intelligence" is a contributor to their perfectly fine game.
latest patch fixed my stuttering, I'm a happy man :buddy:
Christ everyone still crying about bugs on the pc version? I give up with this thread til you all stop crying.
Combat Training Nuketown 18 players. 300,000 points, unlimited time limit. Gunship inbound

Pretty much all the stuttering reports are from users with Core 2 processors.
Damn. When I found out about this glitch it was too late. Wish I could have tried it for my self. :saddowns:
I remember Goat and I both made threads about it but his was the carepackage glitch and mine was just running around knifing. Much rage was had when those two threads combined.
If you're still in the stone ages with a Core 2 processor that will be why. Pretty much all the stuttering reports are from users with Core 2 processors.
Wow, you should ban yourself for being so ignorant. Seriously, ignorance is bliss, or so it seems.
I don't want to die on "Five", it's pissing me off that i can't last that many Waves due the clusterfuck of Zombies at once.
If you're still in the stone ages with a Core 2 processor that will be why. Pretty much all the stuttering reports are from users with Core 2 processors.
My i7 rig, and my i5 rig both stutter, my Q6600 rig stutters, and all of those have GTX260s or above. My i7 rig has a 580 and I still stutter. There is something wrong with the game. I'm not "lagging", when the game is smooth, it runs well at high FPS, but that's far and few between considering I jump from location to location half the time, and I can't hit shit due to major hangs every 5 minutes, and don't say it's my internet, I'm on 3.5MB/s down and 1.5MB/s up.
Pisses me off when people say this. Are dual 4ghz dual cores in the stone age? I mean in terms of raw performance, they beat the pants off a lot of quad cores. If this was like Crysis 2 or GTA IV, I could understand needing a good cpu. when modern warfare 2 runs at 120fps on my "stone aged" dual core, and gtx 260, but then black ops runs at 15fps, I can't help but wonder what they must have added to the engine to make it run that badly. And yes, I know it's an "improved" world at war engine.
WaW ran even faster than MW2 for me.
Make knife it's own weapon. instant kill backstab 2 kills normal only meant for humiliation kills and very very very last resort
Take out the "it's own weapon" part and that'd be good. Also, make it impossible to knife if you're shot. As convenient as it is, I feel like an ass every time I knife someone who just started shooting me.
Fuck, fate is just shitting in my cornflakes today. First of all, my fingers keep slipping. So I keep knifing when I'm firing and pulling out my claymore when I want to knife. So that pretty much is keeping me from leveling up at a decent rate and now it's pretty much stagnating like it did in MW2. (I'm level 12 by the way.) Then, in the middle of the game, my video and sound drivers crash, leaving me blind for 2 minutes and deaf until I restarted my computer.
Christ everyone still crying about bugs on the pc version? I give up with this thread til you all stop crying.
God forbid we actually get a good, playable experience from a game we paid $60 for.
the game has been playable for me since the beginning , just getting a party for zombies was kinda hard. The latest patch fixed that for me though :buddy:

Some CPU optimisations will work better on certain architectures than others. Also I'd be interested to know if anyone is still getting stutters with an ATi card since everyone that has been complaning about it seems to have a Nvidia card as well.

Just hit 2nd prestige last night :buddy: I feel like I play this game too much.
