I had the original game on psp and i have to say it was pretty fuckin awesome (challenging and really hard but in a good way)!
Get a PSP or get a wii and wait for Tri to come out in english. It'll be worth it. Yay,thread back to first page,it deserves it.
It's not that I don't have a PSP or wii, but I can't be assed to buy a game for one of them and dig it out from wherever I've put it.

Looks fun.
Looks rather fun! To bad i don't have a PSP anymore..
Maybe its that PS2 game my friend couldnt remember the name of.. Writing down. Thanks!
Anyone ad hoc party with the ps3 for this? If so anyone wanna partner up?
Awesome game, but once you complete the G* rank quests it gets boring. I should probably make a new character.
It's an injustice to let this thread die, I picked up MHFU recently after only having the original PS2 one and I love it so much :3c Bows are kinda tricky to get a hang of and everyone tells me to use a great sword but I feel so stylish shooting arrows
I use longswords.
I have MH2 on the PSP. Pretty good game, really tough if you don't know what you are doing.
This is the best game series on the PSP. Anyone who says otherwise either hasn't played played it or gave up within the first 20 minutes because they sucked.
I was just trying out longswords and this giaprey jumps at me right when I swing and he flew straight up, that really caught me off guard So far all the improvements and extra stuff are awesome :3c
I actually ordered the Japanese version of this when it came out like a year before Unite and I got an English patch. It was so awesome playing it with my roommate.
There's a monster hunter coming for the xbox 360. http://www.nisute.com/2010/01/26/capcom-announces-new-2010-lineup/ Monster hunter frontier online. It's a remake though.
Amazing series. Played the original on the PS2, and have Freedom 2 and Unite on the PSP. I, too, had the Japanese version with the english patch before Unite came out. Then got Unite. Best PSP games ever. Period. I prefer Longswords and Hammers, personally.
I regret getting a DS all those years ago. :saddowns:
Ucamulbas Hammer is pure sex in this game. Very effective at taking down Rathalos and Rathian.
Ucamulbas Hammer is pure sex in this game. Very effective at taking down Rathalos and Rathian.
I prefer Onslaught and its upgrades. Silver and Gold are cake with that thing.
Oh right, doesn't the Ucam Hammer have negative affinity?
I think so. All Akantor/Uca weapons have negative affinity if I recall correctly.
If you have a PS3. Get this.
This game is addicting.
Aghhhhh I have the worst luck with mining, I had 2 picks break on the same wall and then my last one break on the first hit on a different wall :c ...and all I got were stones and whetstones
The Monster Hunter games are great. I put a solid 300 hours into the first Monster Hunter on PSP.
Anyone up for doing the dual tigrex gathering hall urgent quest on adhoc party? If not I guess i'll have another go at solo'ing it.
How do we do that if it's just ad hoc?
I tried the Korean version online, was fun but stopped playing due to everything being scaled for groups and the language barrier and that the other english speakers were way ahead at the time. I spent the enter timer constantly beating the shit out of khezu without getting hit once and still failed because his hp was fucking huge because it wants you to group with people.
I really like the idea and general style of the game(s). But the combat was quite bad and made the game difficult as hell. Maybe I just sucked. I think I have to give this game another try.
mm about time someone made a decent Monster Hunter megathread. I would suggest using a gunlance for Khezu if you can. The charge and bullets do a lot of fire damage.
