I just don't get how it's better. Everything I've seen hints that it is actually a downgrade from Empire.
Elaborate, please?
Because then the North American 'campaign' would be a completely unnecessary and colossal shit hole. [editline]08:10AM[/editline] Wow, I wasn't expecting it to be 20 gigs. [editline]09:38AM[/editline] His English seems pretty piss poor too, he can't even pronounce half the names and I heard him say, "miscellaneous," as, "mis-KEL-laneous." :downs:
his pronounciasions are based of the pronounsiations of the original languages they come from. he's the one speaking properly if you ask me. and YES! i do think he's too consequent and intollerant about how people adress him. i just never comment and just enjoy the show. let him fantasize about the "R:TW ONLINE GANGSTERS" i don't care. but, you've gotta hand him this, he's quite supperior in strategy. what makes him so butthurt i guess are all those "OMG U NEVER POAST LOOZEZZ" alrhough he does.
It came out a couple days ago.
Released on Steam last night for me. It's pretty fun, I've played an hour of it. Did a battle and 2 of the tutorials. It's pretty cool how morale is displayed now.
josefvstalin on youtube has some purty good napoleon videos up
Thanks mate.
Napoleon just whooped my sorry ass, I have to hand it to my cannons though, they didn't break and run like cowards like the rest of my infantry, they kept firing canistershot point blank into the advancing wall of death until it swallowed them up.
getting this tomorrow or monday. looking forward to it.
How is this game compared to Empire?
Personally, I'm anxiously awaiting a '20th century' total war. That would be incredible.
It is what I have dreamed of since I got addicted to Rome.
I still very much prefer Rome: Total War, because in this game I feel as if I am against other dangerous armies, while it rtw I was a godlike faction (no matter which I picked) and could pretty much destroy anyone if I wanted to

Bayonets will win many more battles than rifles will if used properly. At least that's how it is in empire.
Give them the bayonet. Bayonets will win many more battles than rifles will if used properly. I'll fire a few volleys, until I either have superiority over his men (I have more men, he's wavering, I can tell he doesn't want to fully commit his guys) then I'll charge home with the bayonet. Gets a LOT more done rather than just standing there shooting. Only thing I hate about this is when you go up against Natives or hand-to-hand fighters. They just charge right at you which gives you only time to fire a volley. Then that's it. And they are the better melee fighters so it's usually a close call on who wins.
Goddamn Spaniards, I built a star fort down in Gibraltar, and the spanish keep attacking it with massive armys, and every time I've been able to hold it woith a few companys of line soldiers and a company of light soldiers, I hide the light soldiers in the trees till he's commited all his infantry and cavelry to the fort, then sneak them around back and butcher his artillery, then let the men on the walls take care of the rest, many "Heroic Victories" have been won there, I wish I could promote the dude in charge to General, motherfuckers a tough sonofabitch.

Why can't I advance from the Italian campaign? Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? :C Edit: Fixed it; had to start another Italian campaign for Egypt to unlock for some reason. :/
FFS I still haven't played the one they just released because my comp is so shit
I prefer it this way, at least it's challenging now
Agreed. In the 10 hours of playing Empire I never even came close to losing, in this in only a few battles I've became down to my last few troops.
World war one total war
Just picked up the Imperial Edition today. So far, I'm enjoying it. And the music is absolutely beautiful. :buddy:
I still very much prefer Rome: Total War, because in this game I feel as if I am against other dangerous armies, while it rtw I was a godlike faction (no matter which I picked) and could pretty much destroy anyone if I wanted to
Advice: stop playing on Easy/Easy, and play Barbarian Invasion. It's 5x harder than R:TW normal. They really need to bring back R:TW's AI developer though. The average R:TW Battle AI could demolish the best AI MTW2 and E:TW combined had to offer. Speaking of which, how good is the AI in Napoleon? I've heard some good things, some bad. [editline]12:59PM[/editline]
World war one total war
TW has always been about combined companies and regiments under control. It'd be micromanagement hell in a WW1:TW battle.
Recently bought this and Empire: Total War. I like it, I just wish it was more grand scale. It feels very limited, but I guess it's only following Napolean's life. Also, can somebody recommend some of the best mods for Empire?
TW has always been about combined companies and regiments under control. It'd be micromanagement hell in a WW1:TW battle.
Not unless the gameplay revolves around formulating a plan to defeat the enemy and conveying it to your subordinate commanders. That's basically what military commanders have done since ancient times. It would be more realistic that way and would allow far more larger battles of probably 50,000 or more individual combatants.
Also, can somebody recommend some of the best mods for Empire?
There's this Darthmod submod combination that's really popular at TW Center. Also try Imperial Splendor.
Also, can somebody recommend some of the best mods for Empire?
Darthmod Ultimate Commander Most well-received Empire mod there is. Overhauls the AI, vastly improves gameplay, etc.
