Fuck the British :argh:
kidding, but I did fend off two full-scale sea-based invasions by the Duke of Wellington playing as Russia (one of the times he actually sailed across the map and landed in Odessa)
Plus, I've given independence to both Romania and Greece, and we're all at war with French/Austrians/Ottomans.
I've found that diplomacy is a much more viable tactic in N:TW as opposed to the other ones and I often bribe my neighbors (especially my protectorates) to go to war with other nations
a later TW game could work I think, I'd love the grime and despair of the WW1 era to be in a TW game. Devastated landscapes with degenerate troops being led on suicide charges by pompous aristocrat officers. Hell, you could mod it into Empire if you just gave Windbuesche Jaegers bayonets, lots more ammo, and a new model. Combine that with the ability to construct field barriers (remodel the little sloped things to be trenches and you're golden. You could even just have them on the map by default and make a series of trenches based off the fence system be a replacement battle map for fort battles, with the trench complexity being determined by the what level the fort is) and it'd make for a good mod I think.
RTW is still the best.
If they never make Shogun 2, I'll go to their offices and kick one of their staff members in the shin.
Has anyone have mods installed?
Any recommendations? There are so many mods on twcenter.net that do the same thing slightly differently, it's ridiculous.
Also, the lack of any organisation of mods makes me want to cry.

Honestly WWI on the Western Front is going to be very boring unless said game only concentrated on the early Western Front battles (before the trenches) and the last few weeks of 1918.
However, WWI in the Middle East would be awesome. Just think Lawrence of Arabia and camel cavalry.
I love the game, but goddammit, why can't a game, book, or movie for once get away from the typical "Napoleon invaded Europe for power and glory and fame" bullshit trend that's been going on ever since May 5, 1821.
Then again, this game WAS made by the British...
Still, 9.5/10. Goddamn we need more Napoleonic games.
Histwar Les Grognard is pretty good if you can handle its complexity typical of wargames and dated graphics.
for whoever wanted minor factions for napoleon here you go, http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=337307

yeah, more napoleonic games, by other developers so these guys can go back to the anchients/medieval period and make a campaign structured like in E/N:TW with more than one town/farm a region.
i'd love a Rome mod for either of the new games as well.
Alright so I just finished the European map... was so much fun!

Russian Europe :)
By the end of the Campaign I had about 100k coming in every turn from Tax and Trade, and i counted roughly 30k troops over the whole of Europe.
For those of you who play, by the end I had a limit of either 28 or 36, I can't remember, but still much more than the beginning six.
Ill add some more screenshots tomorrow when im not so tired.
