Why isn't HL2 recognized more easily? - Games

Not knowing about HL but raving about Halo is like not knowing about Diablo but raving about Titan Quest, or not knowing about Dungeon Keeper but raving about Evil Genius.

If you don't know about HL2 well they never listened about it okay?

They're too busy playing MW2 on the 360 That's what the guys only talk about here. Someone screamed out "RAMERIZ, TAKE DOWN THAT AC130, HERES A KNIFE" at his friends today. If only they know how retarded they sound.

Or...maybe it's because that HL2 came out in 2004. And it's been 3 years since the newest HL came out.

The Orange Box cover looks shitty to anyone that doesn't know what Valve is, and it's also one of those instances of ''too good to be true''. Just sayin'.

EA is a fucking bitch company. they buy out other companies like a fucking parasite. Yes i know they produce couple of great games. But so what? COD can only be made by 1 company and thats Infinity ward. Not treyarchs shit (Even though i loved cod waw). Why does it always have to be one or the other? I think both games are great but i prefer HL more. And what? Valve cant make "hype"? They can make hype as good as every other bloody company! Plz play ALL the half-life games before you come to a conclusion! Even the ones that gearbox made. And if you dont call being chased by the gargantua hype. Then what the hell kinda "hype" are you looking for? Sexual hype? Go watch some porn. Scary hype? Go play silent hill. Now stand up and tell everyone what kind of bloody hype you are looking for! All of 2 people near me know about Valve and Gmod. Everyone else plays L4D2 on the XBOX(!!?!) and think it sort of materilized in game stores.

MW2 is turning into the new Twilight. Just for guys. Seriously. There are these guys at my school who act like all hardcore gamers and they play nothing except MW2. They just pretend to know about other games, just so they can say that they suck compared to MW2. I quote directly. "Half Life 2? That game doesn't even have weapon upgrades or ranked multiplayer. Because a lot of this generation started gaming after it became 'cool' (i.e. you can only play mainstream, widely advertised sports games and shooters.)

Why are we all hating on people just for not knowing games. We sound like hipsters.

HL2 is more than half a decade old

For people saying it's old, it would only matter if age was the problem because if 3 years makes that much of a difference, I'm glad less people play Valve games, because that just means more 9 year olds.

You gotta sell the game's high points to the retarded masses. Emphasize the fact that Vortigaunts judo-throw Antlions to the ground and electrocute them to death. Explain the massive battles. Say that Alyx is the most realistically hot thing since their damn Cortana.

What I hate is people to know CounterStrike but don't know Half-Life. That is like knowing what a chicken is but not knowing what a farm is.

Half life as a game wasn't very popular because, at it's time it was a hit, but now it's not that famous, people believe in greater games (Which probably aren't greater) such as Call of duty, Halo, Fallout, Assasins Creed, Racing games, Football games (british football). I was a huge fan of half life back then. But I do know that now all the kids have grown up a little, they are increasingly beginning to like left 4 dead. My 8 year old cousin asked me not to play Left 4 dead because it will scare me. I felt ever so sorry for him, but it didn't stop me!

Alot of my real life friends hate the half life games Hell my best friend and girlfriend think half life is shit, why should I hold it against them and be all smug about the fact I liked it?

People don't normally recognize Half-Life because there's a bazillion shooters out there with similar look/feeling. Fighting aliens, hello?
