Protip: He's a critic, not a reviewer.
Nintendo is only good if your 10. They hardly ever make a new game, they just remake Super Mario, Pokemon, Zelda and Metroid.
the OP is mainly right, it's just way too over the top and pretentious
Money is money and Nintendo is making more money than the PS3 and the 360
so no matter how much you dislike it it's not a failure it's, quite the opposite
new pokemon are games are fine
get over nostalgia ait
What are the other companies doing?
90% of the stuff on the PSP is either sequels to, or remakes of, older games, in some cases the exact same game running in an emulator.
Then there's the PS3, where a majority of the platform-specific games can still be adequately described by "<pc/xbox game>, but on the PS3". See Killzone, Heavenly Sword, Resistance.
And the XBox is little different. Of the top 10 games on the 360, 8 of them have a number in them. The only ones that don't have the sequels in the list as well.
And don't even get started on the iPhone games market. They are far, far, far worse.
Besides, do you really want Nintendo to STOP making games in their franchises? People are begging for a sequel to Kid Icarus, a relatively obscure series with only two entries, both of which are old enough to vote in most countries. If they canceled the next Metroid, or Zelda, or even Pokemon, in order to make something new, there would be riots. There would be angry mobs, and burning, and death. Ruination, as though Armageddon had come early.

Nintendo is known for targeting younger audiences, they make sequels yes, but kids these days would much rather see some flashy images then the 8-bit stuff we had, and you can't blame them. Plus its great knowing that children can have the experience we did as kids, why in the world would you want to strip them of Mario and Pokemon? I grew up with those guys and they remind me of Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse, they are characters still today because the adults love them and the children do to, why change what isn't broken?
nice sweeping generalizations of every platform except PC
PC is perfect, but costs more.
nice sweeping generalizations of every platform except PC
Forgot to oversimplify and overgeneralize a platform! Quick, what can I say about the PC?
How about, "o noez teh pc gaming iz dyingz lol"? I hope the LOL managed to convey that that was satire, but you never know.
Of course any generalization is incorrect in elements, but it does give a general conception that is useful for, say, arguing against another generalization. Which is what I did. He generalized that Nintendo doesn't make good original games anymore, I generalized the same about every alternative, forcing him to either accept that his generalization was false or that every such generalization is true, something that few would want.
And now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Heavy rain, god of war 3, uncharted 2, demon's souls, ratchet and clank a crack in time, flower, ratchet and clank tools of destruction, little big planet
Shall I continue or you stop generalising consoles out of your ass? and yes I'm aware that I'm probably wrong regarding uncharted 2
90% of the stuff on the PSP is either sequels to, or remakes of, older games, in some cases the exact same game running in an emulator.
Patapon, loco roco, lumines, SOCOM fire teams, secret agent clank, sid meier's pirates, god of war chains of olympus, crush, daxter, killzone liberation, field commander
Again stop generalising consoles and actually play some of the games moron
And the XBox is little different. Of the top 10 games on the 360, 8 of them have a number in them. The only ones that don't have the sequels in the list as well.
I would list games but you've only said 10 so what about the other few thousand 360 games that aren't sequels
And don't even get started on the iPhone games market. They are far, far, far worse.
No one cares about the iphone market

You want them to make sequels yet you bash other consoles for having sequels, where's the irony emote when I need it?
TL;DR: stop generalising you moron

Remember, all of these are supposed to be generalizations, and basically ignore anything they need to to work. I'm not even trying to argue that games aren't original anymore, so I'm not sure why I'm doing this. Probably to be a stubborn asshole.
Heavy Rain: Exception. Or: A movie, on the PS3.
God of war 3: It's God of War 2, on the PS3. With new stuff. And more boobs.
uncharted 2: It's a stretch, but it's Tomb Raider plus Resident Evil 5. On the PS3.
demon's souls: rogue, with better graphics, on the PS3.
ratchet and clank a crack in time: the 2002 game Blinx. On the PS3.
flower: It's a screensaver. On the PS3.
little big planet: mario, with a level editor that wouldn't be a major feature if it was a pc game. On the PS3.
Remember, I'm just showing that by ignoring details, you can prove practically any point. Rounded to the nearest quadrillion, humanity is extinct.

I was generalizing to prove that the OP's generalization was wrong. Sheesh. No need for ad hominems.
Although if we're getting to ad hominem attacks, I have a great quip about your mother I've been meaning to use...

Ooooh right it was satire
Sorry I kind of jumped onto it :3:
The black wii is an attempt to resuscitate the sales i think.

No biggie. I'm just kind of irritable because I've been bedridden for four days with the flu.
Although I did have an epic idea during one of my fever-induced dreams, so it may be worth it.
There was the Gameboy Advance. Then the Gameboy Advance SP, 'cause they suddenly realized they fucked up by not adding a backlight.
The Gameboy Advance was amazing when it came out. I couldn't believe they were able to get those graphics on a handheld. The Gameboy Advance SP was an awesome improvement because you had the backlight and it was small and compact so you could carry it any where. More recently they release the Gameboy Micro which should have been more popular than it was. I for one loved it.
But then, when all the other console companies had taken their product to the next level, Nintendo released another copy of the gamecube with a shitty motion-sensitive control system/vibrator and called it the Wii.
The Wii is the most unique out of the rest of the other consoles. Nintendo did more than the other companies when making their console instead of saying "lets just upgrade the hardware and network playablitilty", Nintendo added motion sensitive controllers which allowed gameplay to become more interactive and allow more possiblities for controls. I loved my Wii before it broke down and it had many great games.
Then came the DS, And I actually thought they had a chance at redemption.
DS = Older than Wii. The DS is was a great hand held game system when it was released and I still think it is today.
They released the DS lite next because it struck them that the children of today have too little muscle mass to carry around a quarter-pound, wallet-sized console on top of all those heavy books and bags.
The original DS was rather large and ugly. The DS lite was sleek and more portable (I don't remember being able to carry the original DS in my pocket comfortably).
Then they made ANOTHER DS with a built in pregnancy test strip, insulin monitor and heroin needle, and called it the DSi.
They made the DSi more practical by making it possible to take pictures and modify them on the fly. You could also put music on it so it could also be used as a MP3 player as well as a gaming system.
And now they've remade those classic game boy color games because, as I've stated before, they're completely out of original ideas.
Maybe it's because they are GOOD games, maybe some people never played them. Its a smart move on their part. Are you saying its wrong of Microsoft to rerelease old games on XBLA? Or its wrong for Sony to rerelease PS1 games on PSN?
The wii is great fun is you have friends to play with actually
o wait
Basically this. I never had a Wii, but i went to a friend's birthday party, and he had a Wii. I came thinking "Hmm, so what's so good about this Wii console"
then "HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME". Simply because we had a really great time watching each other fail at WarioWare Smooth Moves.
[editline]08:46AM[/editline]
maybe some people never played them.
Yeah. I never played Gold or Silver. Only Yellow, so this was really convenient for me. Since it sounded awesome that it was basically two games in one (two regions)
it's slowly spreading and even the thugs are all "fuck yeah pokemon"
That's them trying to be cool by being "SO RANDUM HURRR".
Seriously, i doubt they would want to be seen with a Nintendo DS and Pokemon loaded up on it.
I have a Wii, and some of the best games I know are for the wii, for example Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Bros New. Only mario games so far, but soon I'll get some zelda games. I don't see the problem with "remaking the same old games", sure they're remakes but they're good remakes.
dang connotations, making people playing pokemon seem like they are kids to other people.
And guess what. Nintendo don't give a shit.

Nintendo fucked up by making the Wii controller a lot less sensitive than it should have been, losing immersion in games when you realised how damn inaccurate the thing is.
What the hell is up with everyone thinking that hating new games is cool and edgy. Fuck off, Nintendo's games are still awesome, you're just blinded by nostalgia.
Yea I'd defiantly call 67.4 Million units, which at $6 profit per unit is $404 Million, over 509.6 million software titles sold, and 49% of the console market a total epic failure.

Incidentally, by the same logic you could call this a success.

Nintendo's target audience has always been different from Sony's and Microsoft's, so the Wii makes a ton of money by increasing the audience it's geared towards. Quite a bit of new games are sequels to old ones or remakes of really old ones. Movies do this too.
Nintendo fucked up by making the Wii controller a lot less sensitive than it should have been, losing immersion in games when you realised how damn inaccurate the thing is.
That's why they released the Wii Motion Plus addon to the Wii Remote. And I think some of the inaccuracy stems from the sensor bar working irregularly with the TV it's connected to. It would be nice if Nintendo allowed sensor bar configurations to preset screen sizes to help the remote be more accurate.

What's wrong with Spirit Tracks? I thought it was an excellent Zelda game.
Yeah, it's a women. And that comic is very true
Indeed pretty much spot on.
Holy shit what a flamewar.
Actually Wii is supposedly extremely entertaining in groups of people, I have partially experienced it myself. I attempted a few games for it with a friend, five minutes later I came to curious realization that both of us were actually having fun. While the rest of the gaming world appears to be moving into the direction of serious and dedicated gaming (I highly value it as well) Nintendo decided to become the king of casual gaming, and they appeared to have succeeded in that role.
