New Pokémon Games Revealed: Pokémon Black & Pokémon White - Games

The consensus here seems to be that the games are going to be shit because they are new and you can't feel all nostalgic about new things. You don't know anything about these titles, other than the fact that they're called Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, and that they will be revolutionary for the series. In my opinion each generation has gotten better, adding new battling mechanics to a point where the game is so complex that you can train your Pokemon's stats using methods that don't even officially exist (by name anyway). It's not about the originality of the Pokemon really. If you play it for that then you don't really 'get' Pokemon :frogbon:

Red, Blue and Yellow FTW! All the others fail. Apart from the travel system. Liked how you could sprint in gold/silver and the like.

Running without my nostalgia goggles on, I'd have to say this. Gen 4> Gen 2> Gen 1 They've added new mechanics and features over time, and I don't think more Pokemon, despite how unoriginal or crap some of them may be, ruin the game. It's not like it's impossible to play with older ones. As for Gen 3, I somehow managed to completely forget about the Pokemon series during that time, and never played one, so I can't judge it.

I still found Generation 2 to be the best of the series, with Generation 3 running a close second. I mean, just when you thought you beat the champion in Generation 2, you get to take a walk down memory lane and [I]do it all over again in Kanto.[/I]

Shop at Pokémon center sounds fine. I don't really understand why they still use so blatant 2D sprites though. I don't mind the 2D and 3D would look weird, but they are simply so flat that it seems like it looks intentionally like that.

Anyone complaining about Nintendo milking the Pokemon franchise clearly hasn't played the new generations. They make very meaningful upgrades and changes each time. It's not like they're releasing the same game over and over.
