Pokemon: serious buisness.
I hate it already. Look at the city picture! That's not pokemon.
I'm going to get it anyway though.
When they change things up, people bitch. When they leave things the same, people bitch. Game Freak is damned if they do, damned if they don't.
I still don't get why they removed the night/day thing for Generation 3.

Also, just putting this out there: It's not only the graphics, it's what they imply. It changes 2 standards: Pokemon Centers/Marts, and very urban environments. I'm saying I won't play it if it keeps up with the trend of changing shit without cause. (Also they are ugly as shit in it's current form.)
I like the Pokemart inside the Pokemon Center, it always annoyed me when every city made you walk from one end to the other just to buy a few pokeballs. Then you get to the Elite Four and everything is right there in one room, no more tedious running around. It got to the point where I would fly to the pokemon League, heal up and but what I needed and fly back and it was faster than walking.
And you can't really judge the 3D style from 5 scans of a game magazine.
Overall each pokemon game has improved upon the last while keeping the style the same, changing to 3D isn't going to stop that. It's not like Ubisoft who, rather than add features and streamline, they redo the whole playstyle i.e. Prince of Persia, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell.

You bet your sweet ass it is.
Pokemon dosent suck now. You just grew up.
I disagree, while they don't suck (since people often get mixed up between "bad" and "not good") I don't think DPPt are anywhere near as good as some of the others. They just don't feel the same. HGSS were good, but some of the newer Pokémon games, I find, are missing the feel Pokémon used to have. And no, it had nothing to do with nostalgia for me. A lot of people say that they're better because of things like wi-fi, but that really has nothing to do with the game, since if you got one of the older games and updated the graphics and added all of the features DPPt have (good thing HGSS recently came out!) then I would find them much better than DPPt.

I agree with some of what you're saying and disagree with others, but I' glad to see someone's actually trying to make a stand about how it isn't all how more features don't mean a better game and things like that. I would make my posts longer and better but I often have no idea how to say things. I agree with you on the most part.

Then you come waltzing in here and start attacking my opinions with poorly thought out and baseless arguments and poor grammar. My opinions are not dense or ignorant because this is how I genuinely feel. This is my experience. I don't like the new features before as I've used them and hated them. That's not ignorance, it's the opposite. It's being open to new changes and forming well thought out arguments. However, you calling MY opinions ignorant is an excellent example of irony. You have no right to take your own opinions and call mine stupid off of them. I respect your opinion, I don't mind if you enjoy it and I won't try to convince you otherwise. However, you have no ground calling me stupid and ignorant because of my experience and opinions.
That's basically why I don't make my posts as long as the one you made. It seems futile since people just ignore what you say and call you ignorant and how people who prefer older games are obsessed with nostalgia and so their opinions apparently have no merit.
I think they ruined Half Life 2 by upgrading to the source engine :downs:
This is exactly what I hear these dumb people are saying. Another comparison is like saying Black Mesa: Source is ruining Half-Life.
Pokemon, what happened to you?
Hmm, the games don't come out until the fall in Japan, I'll check back on the game closer to the release date.

apparently according to the official Japanese pokemon site
"every aspect will be reborn innovatively,"
Interesting.

It's been significantly upgraded and improved in pretty much every way, whilst keeping the style and feel of the originals.
