IGN released their list of best PC games. Apparently Fallout is worse than Crysis. - Games

HL2 was a fantastic game, and it should have been on this list due to its gameplay and graphics, however, its story is shit. It's 1984 with aliens and an atmosphere that wasn't nearly what it was cracked up to be. Now, if HL2 had stuck to its original plan and delivered on the promises of the alpha leak, turning out a bit more like what Raising the Bar describes, then I would agree. As it is, however, the story in HL2 is pretty shitty.

can I be the only one who thought crysis had a reasonably good story? I mean, it's not great, but it isn't awful. It could have done with a little more explanation of the aliens though. but I have to agree with above, doom really deserves to be placed higher than many of the higher up ones.

Crysis was just a big tech-demo tbh.

You can tell a shitty story in a way that makes it seems awesome (see HL2), or you can tell an awesome story in a way that makes it seem shitty (see the Halo games vs the Halo books). HL2 had great storytelling, just a bad story.

I like Crysis :saddowns: Of course it's not better than Fallout 3 though.

Honestly, i want everyone here to pay X-COM: UFO Defense, it's truly a great game, easily #1 because of how innovative it was for it's time. It still has what most games today cannot replicate. Plus, it's only $5. What's not to like?

The voice acting and characters were good but otherwise it was standard post-apocolyptic fare we've seen a million times before. As for fun gameplay, it's an fps. That's all it is. Not an especially interesting one at that.

Really? Sims? Infront of Fallout? I've learnt about a year ago to screw off with IGN. They gave Madden an 8.9 and Mothership Zeta a 7.0 or 7.4. IGN is getting paid or is just plain stupid.

I think that all the games there belong on the list, just not in that order necessarily.

The gameplay has aged possibly worse than any other fps, I can't even play it any more. Story is totally forgettable, I mean what has happened over the course of the last 3 games? Destroy citadel, watch citadel explode (if you can even count ep1 as any advancement to the story), launch rocket. Yawn. It's about as linear as a story can possibly get.
