I did anti aliasing on my Nvidia settings shiz, and it looks the same, so I gave up.

Good man, I use pretty much the same realism, sometimes I leave icons on and sometimes I go for complete realism. Cockpit only can make long missions a bit more tedious but if it's a plane from a country who doesnt speak your language you can spend the flight trying to figure out what the instruments all show. :P
One of the more intense missions I've played was an air war, about 20 players on each side, all realism, full mission objectives etc, starting in dispersal and taxiing to the runway. It was pretty freaky scanning the skies for dots and then seeing dots and being unable to tell if they were friend or foe until they got WAY closer. I was in some russian thing, I downed a 109 for sure and left a bomber smoking but I don't think he went down, but I was just happy to get the plane back on the runway.
Nothing wrong with the Me 262, I don't have time for people who call certain planes noobish, all that matters to me is that the planes are comparable generations (ie. I don't want to come up against a 262 if I'm flying in a 1942 spitfire).
P47, P51 and late model Spitfires all pose a major threat to the 262 as long as they can get the speed up or catch the 262 at lower speeds.
No server yet? And shame that the AAA server doesn't have all aircraft...
AAA server fails. 30+ people rage. Hard rules that no one obey.
No shooting smoking aircraft? OK.
But when I was flying in my B24 with ALL ENGINES SMOKING.
6 guys was shooting at me at the same time.
And I hate spitfires. Not that they are noobish or shit, but some people only fly spitfires and say they are pro's.

I don't think any pros call themselves pros, but I don't have a problem with people being the master of one plane.
(Especially not when it's one of the most beautiful and iconic planes ever to exist)

While that is true in real life, it proved to be a good tactic as most people want the kill in one attack run. So they freak out if it doesn't work.
Most of the time people stick around the bomber, making them sitting ducks for the guns.
Also, irl you can die, you can't in a game so people take risks.

Me262 has really unreliable engines. You how to very gentle with the throttle.

We do play "minigames" too.. but that's usually with more people. Seaplane war, or bomber war, it's kinda hard with around 3 players only.

Wow, what the fuck. Every single time I try to download the 4.08m patch for IL2 1946, about 12-15% into the download, the following happens:
1. My computer lags like fuck for about five seconds.
2. Computer freezes for 10-15 seconds.
3. Computer returns to normal, internet cuts out, download fails.
4. Internet reconnects, but download is fucked.
This has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME I've tried to download the patch. I've tried from FileFront, FileShack, and Xfire (but xfire has extremely shitty dl speeds) and none have not fucked up.

Full realism, heavily moderated, takeoffs mandatory. No vultching, and no dicking about with jets and lerches. Don't come on expecting an arcade game.
Oh, and smoke on = do not engage. Don't abuse this the second you get into a dogfight, or we will gun you down anyways, only use it on takeoff or something.

I got mine from gamershell or however it's spelled.
I got the game a couple years ago but haven't played it for quite a while. Any tips on how to not suck at aiming/dogfighting?
I bought this game on steam, the trasnsaction went through, but the game isn't on my game list. I tried restarting steam.
