I'm coming! Installing latest patch atm. I'll be there in hopefully 10 minutes or less.
Yay!
That's not particularly true. Even just one wing contains a plethora of parts that are damged seperately, aside from just the flight surface. And its also better if you're using one of the newest planes, as the models get better with the newer and more popular content. Just one wing is divided into 6 panels, aerilons, flaps, inner flaps (if they're there), flap hydraulics, aerilon control leads, cannons (if on the wings), cannon ammo (if stored in the wings), fuel tanks, rocket payload, and bomb payload (if stored like it is in some Sturmoviks). It's possible to put a hole in the wing of a sturmovik so that you can see the bomb payload inside it, given that it didnt go off. The added drag of the bent up wing panels even decreases your speed and you don't lift as well. You also speak as if they tail is one peice. In gibbing and damage models, its 8. In internals, its an additional 5. 13 things to go wrong all together, just in the tail. And if you have a split fuesalage with 2 tailplanes, its a much bigger number.
8 tail parts? I've only seen 1.. the rudder made of 2 and tail wings together also have 4. And that's nice to know. I noticed the fiat biplane for example has rather large wing sections and doesn't show much damage. I did notice the drag on my wings. But i don't consider that something special. On a side note, what are armor flaps? I noticed you can bind it to a key.
On the subject of plane damage parts: A number of the Bi-Planes seem to have a problem when you explode. I was testing how various planes react when diving vertically from 10000 feet. Most come apart in the air, some with multiple engines overheat and burst into flames... But Biplanes, when they hit the ground I noticed that a few of them, one they've come apart, have two main fuselage wrecks. It's quite odd having two tails or cockpits embedded in the ground. Also, the transport/bomber seaplane which has a boat-like hull and an additional float under each wing (Which isn't the landing gear, which it doesn't have); If you clip the tip of the wing off, most easily done so during landing with ships, less common when it's actually shot off, then the float still exists, despite being taken off with the wing. As you move around on the water's surface, there's still ripples in the water where the float was, but isn't.
I just realized that Bi-Planes had superchargers.
Sounds like you have the vunerability turned off.
No, I have the same thing. Although it only happens to me if I eject (sometimes) or if purposely fly into something. It does the same thing if i hit the water.
This games is fun beyond belief. Though did anyone else had the bug that sometimes when your pilot got killed and your plane came crashing down to earth, how it bounced up at an insane speed, making a huge arch then coming down again for yet another bounce.
I had that happen when I eject just in time, then I see my plane either pull up, or hit the ground, bounce back up in a arch. Then I'm... I should have stayed in it.
Zat was fun! :D
We played, it was fun, screens: Longy (who I guess is LeYang? Probably?) playing around with his gigantic bomb, I flew the stuka for a while. Me shooting at TicTac's plane. Then there's my mosquito getting raped by TicTac's spitfire. And another plane getting shot at. I also flew upside down right above Longy's plane, but it was hard as hell :P Now that I think of it, I should have taken more pics of the hilarious shit we did on the server. Maybe next time.
sami1337 just Crashed!
I'm LeYang, in that game. Not sure who Longy is.
Hmm someone else want to set up a server?
My server is up..
Server IP: 24.178.237.202:21000 Make sure you have 4.08m installed. I'm not sure if there is a password, if there is, it is 'tic' Vent IP: 69.162.79.106 Port number is 3784
That's the info.
I would come, but I'm downloading 4.08 patch.
Tsk, don't play it with virtual cockpit mode, that's too easy! :P
I'm so coming as soon as I patch, but how do you get those snazzy indicators on your screen?
Wow google comes up with no longer working webpages for the patch, does anyone have a working link?

gonna jump on
I bought this but my slow ass internet connection has only gotten me to 50% in the past 3 hours.
That was fun. Your spitfires are no match for my all-powerful rear-gunning skills.
Haha I did ok. I suck but I managed to down you guys a few times.
Okay, I randomly got Blue Screen of Death, server will be back in a couple of minutes.
That was pretty amazing guys, I was ace. Those rocket planes are amazing!
Haha, so that was you?
That was pretty amazing guys, I was ace. Those rocket planes are amazing!
but historically were failures.
how accurate are the missiles in this?
If you set the sights right, they're accurate.
Okay, it doesn't like it when I Alt-Tab oddly.. It's back up.
I timeout everytime I try to connect.
