Map suggestion.
There's a pacific map which has 2 big islands several kilometers apart, with a tiny sickle shaped island in the middle. I Think it is the perfect map for the server.
Map is called something obvious, "Pacific Islands" or something.
Wee, I killed landing aircraft with an artillery piece because they were pissing me off. ^_^

How do I set up my xbox controller as a joystick? It will not show up as a joystick in Input in the game but works fine with windows...
For people that want widescreen. Go to your game installation and open the ini file called 'conf'. The top section is supposed to look like this for widescreen:

EnableResize=1
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0
Replace width and height with what you want to use obviously.

Go to game folder and then il2setup.exe (should be named something like that). And then check the "use joystick" option.

Edit: anyone with an ipod touch or iphone and no joystick, get zoozcontrol and you can use it as a joystick for il2 sturmovik :D :D

I've been having trouble making skins in paint.net.
If i do a skin in ms paint and save it as a 24-bit bitmap, that works but If i do that in paint.net it won't show up in the skin drop down menu. I tried loading the skin into ms paint and saving it again but that still didn't work.
How do I edit a skin? I want to make an all pink plane :v:

you can't fuck with the color profile embedded.
Whatever you do, do not save as. You have to save it as it is.
You must save it as an indexed bmp, not RGB, for some reason.

Ah, right. So whereabouts in paint.net can i set it to save as an indexed BMP?
Does anyone know how I can set the twist pedals on my saitek to control the throttle power? I've been using two separate buttons for awhile now.
