Spitfire is a good plane for people with no skill. My big fuck-up was I used the Bf-109 when I first got IL-2 instead of practicing, and eventually, after being vulched, killed, shot down, stalled a countless amount of times, etc., it grew on to me, and I fly it like a pro, and I know its limits and how fast it can go before it falls apart, so I just stick with planes until I get it right.

spitfire is a piece of shit. if you dive to get to an enemy below you, your engine breaks. it turns worse then the FW190. and its cannons are the only good weapons on it, and they have little ammo.
and it has hardly any armor.

Engine doesn't break, the older versions of the spitfire didn't have fuel injection engines so if you make a negative g manouvre then you will stall the engine because it's being starved of fuel. Sure it didn't have a lot of armour but not many planes did.
If you need to dive, just roll it upside down before you do it to keep the fuel being pushed toward the bottom of the plane.
It's not a shit plane, you just don't know how to fly it.
If it was such a shit plane then we wouldn't have won the battle of Britain.
There are no carburetor Spitfires in the vanilla game. Earliest model is the MkV.

oh okay. AAA is usually stuck with old versions of the spitfire. i know how to fly it, but it just doesn't fit my style.
but i would credit germany's super shitty stuka and He-111 for losing battle of britain.

The Ju-87 and He-111 are brilliant planes. The reason Germany lost the battle of britain was because Hitler ordered the bombing of the RAF's airfields to cease which was completely crippiling the RAF and for the luftwaffe to bomb London. The RAF took their chance and raped the Luftwaffe over England.
