No, the keys really suck for this, since it's either full in one direction or nothing, with the joystick you can tilt it slightly to aim more precisely.
It's really irritating when you have to aim and the crosshair jumps around like crazy.

I have a technique to landing it.
Line up with runway.
Turn off rear engine.
Flaps to takeoff.
Throttle to 25%.
Turn on level stabilizer.
Correct throttle to land flat and at 210km/h.
How about taking off?
