Post of the year there buddy. I actually laughed out loud in real life. A dedicated server is a server that never shuts down. 24/7 Orange maps means it only runs Orange maps.

It looks as if you put more effort into compiling this map than actually working on it.
I would love if someone redid some real maps like cs_office or 2fort in orange so us people with not so great computers could get some decent fps. But I have to agree that most if not all of orange maps are crap.
Actually, it takes more brainpower to make a good orange map than it does to make a good normal map.
With normal maps, there's the whole graphic element; if your map looks good enough, people will see past design flaws.
With orange maps, however, you have to focus on how well the map is designed. There is no real graphic element. They're easier to make overall, but it's harder to make a good one by far.

Or, you could just make a good well textured map with no design flaws... Also, I don't get what all the hate on orange maps is, I'll admit, a well built map by Valve or a veteran mapper can be rather breathtaking, but I do enjoy some orange maps, mainly because of the simplicity of them.

Extremely wrong.
With normal maps, you have to focus on graphics and design: people will notice bad design very quickly. With cp_egypt for TF2, you have a pretty map, but it's just confusing as shit: it's like a maze, if you will. Design is important, but graphics help give it style and add some likeness to it too. The graphics also tell that the mapper put time and effort into the map, and not only the map's graphics.
With orange maps, most of the mappers for these maps suck at mapping in general, so not only are the graphics bad, but the design sucks too. It's not hard to come up with a generic idea for a map (unless you have Mapper's Block). Orange Maps are very quickly made, so you can expect their design to be rough too.
The map is a lot less immersive too. There's no reason you should ever release an orange map.
The map isn't that bad of a map. It has a skybox, lighting, all the needed gameplay elements and even decent beginning brushwork. Good work.

And what is with this orangemap shitstorm? Yeah maps with developer textures can be shit, but only if you put shit effort into it. I use dev textures but only as a placeholder until I find a suiting texture or I make my own.
What some orange maps are, are just maps with developer textures and an excuse to not put in good textures, they don't completely define the map. And think of the map this way, it looks a hell of a lot better compared to other peoples starting maps.
And to the people calling him lazy, for some people who are still getting a feel for making maps, putting detail and realism into a map takes a lot of time, and if done wrong and breaks the map, can be very dis encouraging to new mappers, who just want to make a map. So if people started giving him tips and more positive criticism, he might be able to make this or future maps better.

if you look at my fpsbanana profile you can see this isnt my first map. ive made about 7 maps, not all uploaded, and theyve turned out pretty good. the reason i dont make normal maps is because i dont like them. orange maps are just more fun to me.

Orangemaps are half-assed maps, not real ones. Maps with scenery and terrain gives depth and feel to a game. This aint '02.
You really should do real maps instead of orange maps. Every orange map looks pretty much the same, no enviroment, no textures, and what the fuck are WWII soldiers doing in a blocky, walled up place with orange and gray paint smeared everywhere.

That map is horrible. One could make it just by reading the "my first room" tutorial. And then it would even be better because it had real textures and a small pool
An orange map will never be breath taking, not even a good one.
However a good orange map can provide unrivaled fun.
Just looked at the map (in Gmod). Why did you surround the ENTIRE play area in a massive sky box? It creates a needlessly large bsp file and can reduce frame rate. A better way is to enclose just the toop of the out door area and the bottom of the chasms which you will need to make a bit deeper and place a kill zone at the bottom if there isn't one there already. this will case the compiler to remove the faces that are outside the level and save you some work with the next recommendation.
The use of No draw texture on faces that the players will never see is also a good way to help optimise the map.
Screenshot tip: use the text tool for the writing and the ellipse/circle tool for the rings the free hand scribbles look messy and unprofessional.
I don't know why you're all freaking out about this, it's a lot better than most of the maps in the mapping section.
Orange maps can be just as good as regular maps, if they have good level design. However, you still need more practice mapping.
