I dled the map and I want to cut out my eyes from how bad it is.
As soon a I spawned and added bots It became a cluster fuck we try tried to get to the center of the hall but players joined and mged the hell from the end what is the point of this map its so easy for the enemy to camp.
The map is fucking awful
I used to play orange maps on TF2 because my old computer sucked dick and went 5 - 10 FPS on goldrush with 6 or more players.
I used to think orange maps were made by lazy people while some are, this doesn't look it, he has his textures perfectly aligned and I can see where he put some things in.
Orange maps are good because they are flat and not bumpy which in my opinion makes for a better map.
I don't understand why people make orange maps because when I try to I can't stop myself from adding textures.

i can see that some of you dont like the map and thats ok but when you start saying orange map makers are lazy? then you crossed the line. who are you to say that and let me see some of your maps to see if theyre any better.

Orange maps lack detail and textures. Not going in detail and adding good textures hints very strongly at laziness. Go figure.

You don't get the point, if you texture something you have to add some more things to the map than just carved out cubes because it would otherwise look totally stupid.
The DevTextures just conceal the fact that there's no effort in the map because they have colors rather than textures. No changeover between two different textures look horrible but they don't with DevTextures because those 2 colors fit together.
And texturing a map that it looks good is at least 50% of the work because sculpting and placing objects is just a matter of time spent on the map.
So your map is horrible in every way. You say you don't map that long? That's no problem but it is [i]NO[/i] excuse in spending no time at all on the map.
So without experience your map might take 2, 3 or 5 times as long as it would for a valve mapper, it might not be optimized but at least you can make it look good.
But all you (and most other mapping newbes, too) do is sitting 30-60 minutes in front of hammer, placing blocks and carving them and then post it on the internet. And it is horrible. And it will always be.
Spend 30-60 minutes on one room of one house, as a newbe, and you can produce (with enough imagination, of course) something good looking.
By the way the only ones that should be working with DevTextures are really experienced mappers because they can create very nice maps (but not for playing online games on it, more like art)

Dev textured maps suck unless they are in the process of being made, as a normal map. Though I'm sure you can make a good dev textured map but it would be a waste to do.

Dev textures should only be used as placeholders (or if the map is way too big and adding detail and shit like that would create Lag)

surf maps are real maps... why wouldnt they be? any map is a map as long as its playable. surf maps are just another kind of game to play on CSS. people DO get bored of just getting the hostages all the time.
