Making a game is actually good fun. You get to make something, put it ingame and then instantly see it in action. That's just awesome.
its awesome just looking at the progress you guys are making!
Dear god this looks epic :haw:
I made lamp
I'm not a fan of the series in any way. I just got it as a birthday gift from my neighbors many years ago, I tried using it for a while but it made this ticking noise which drove me insane. I actually modified it later on too, replacing Hogwortsz (?) with C17 and Harry & Co with the Half-Life cast, and then spray painted the base silver. My art teacher asked me if it was dry yet, and before I could answer he had grasped his hands around the not so dry paint, ruining it. Later on, my mom managed to knock it off my table and that was the end of it.
thats what they all say. :smug: [editline]09:13PM[/editline]
I made lamp
I love lamp
Lamp needs more lightsource in its design.
lamp with more lightsource is on svn. map name is lamptest
lamp mount look tf2'ish
lamp mount look tf2'ish
I agree, since it is THE FUTURE, bolts should seem more smooth.
Dialogue! Problems to be addressed: -HUD looks harrable -Barney doesn't say shit -It's Barney
Characters do not keep their focus on you, during the discussion. The HUD seems to be easily lost, too.
shut, up
:(
shut, up

put outer glow everywhereeeeeeee
Are you still looking for someone skilled with Faceposer? I've improved even more during the past few weeks, and I've got some more free time http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3797350/oa5/hateburn.wmv

(If it's in there then woohoo, because i'm not downloading that huge WIP :v: )

Fair question, do you guys accept concept Ideas?
If they're any good. No promises that they will actually be implemented though.
Well, when I saw the video above, I had an idea about the dialog hud. One if the system in the video is going to be used, click to enlarge. And one that goes with the hud concept Jaanus posted, some pages ago. Tbh, the second Idea looks better, since the text floats dynamically at the side of the npc.
Needs more outer glow.
Outer glow is for PS noobs.
nice avatar bro

I'm thinking keys should have semi-consistent functions, too, like W = investigate, A = positive replies, D = negative replies, and S = exit.
I'm thinking keys should have semi-consistent functions, too, like W = investigate, A = positive replies, D = negative replies, and S = exit.
just like Mass Effect has Paragon at the top, Renegade at the bottom, and options that keep the convo going longer at the left
I don't know shit about anything, but are you guys eventually going to replace the default footstep sound? Just seems like one of those little things that goes a long way
Probably. With a mod this size, though, it's important to focus on getting the really big gameplay elements and crucial art assets like weapons & characters finished before fidgeting with a million little details. It's very easy to get distracted with stuff like that and lose sight of the bigger picture, which stalls progress.
Makes sense. It's funny because this mod has been in development for almost 5 months and it already has almost as much to show for it as Black Mesa's dev cycle
Haha I wouldn't say that. But I've been a part of two failed total conversions and some other mods already, and I've learned a few things not to do. This time around I'm learning that one of the drawbacks to posting very early rough content publicly is that people nitpick fucken everything
"I should go" Nice reference
