Dofus has a decent P2P model: Only $5 and it unlocks the entire game.
If you're a free account, you can be in astrub + surrounding areas, but that's basically the only restriction. You'll eventually hit a level and be unable to train effectively on all the low monsters, so you'll want to subscribe by that point any way. If you stick with it that long, you'll probably pay the $5.
But Wakfu's is the stupidest one I've ever heard of.
Where can i find the benefits of paying? I tried this: http://www.wakfu.com/na/mmorpg/discovery/why-subscribe-to-wakfu but it re-directs to the homepage.

I wonder how far they will expand the world, but i have this bad feeling that they won't expand it too much because they have to expand 4 worlds at the same time probably.
I think you have more freedom than in Dofus, but Dofus has more to do it seems.
The art style looks pretty "anime" but whatever I've played (and payed for) worse.
It's pretty anime because it is pretty much just that. They obviously took major inspiration from anime and Japan.
Ankama has it's own style though, which is cool.
yeah, what I like most is that they didn't build on the mage-rogue-priest-warrior thing, instead they invented their own 12 classes (which are those 4 plus some random stuff).
At least they went away from the D&Desque spirit and invented something cool...
Too bad they killed it with this shitty P2P model.
When this is officially released on the 29th, will everyones chars be deleted?
I was thinking of playing now but i didn't want to get into it only to have my char deleted on the release day
Imo the p2p model is fine besides excluding non paying players from the economy. It's a fair price and it's not like there are truly free mmo's out there. The problem is the game itself. It just doesn't feel like it's worth the money. Might as well wait for dofus 2.0.
There will be a wipe at launch.
And, yes, the whole problem is that the game isn't worth the price when compared to other games for the same price tag.
I admit there aren't many tactical games like this, but this is no reason to shove a grind fest up our throat for that price.
If i'm not mistaken dofus 2.0 has been released for a while, and thanks plasma i will wait for the release then

Oh. Looks like it yeah.
Dofus 2.0 was just a graphical upgrade.
Where the fuck can I mint coins?

I'd be alright with it if you could still use cash and not mint it, and if rather than only being able to learn gathering professions you could only learn four professions total (which would be enough for a crafting profession or two and the associated gathering professions to be somewhat self-sufficient)
I'd also be alright with it being a one-time purchase for 20 euros or so.
But as it is the freebie part of it can't even really be called free access to the game because you are cut out of literally everything except combat, basically. It's not even a trial, because you won't get access to any of the interesting aspects of the game.
the most important thing in this kind of games is the population. You can craft as much as you want, if there is no one to sell to, why the hell would you do that?
Excluding freebies from buying stuff really kills it for me.

You can do all dungeons in Astrub though.
But in Dofus new players are also kinda important for the economy. They feed shitty stuff into the market that others can use and buy starting gear.
Professions aren't really worth it anyways. It's grindy, time-consuming, and unrewarding. The only real good profession is handyman and lumberjack for expanding haven bags.
Maybe leather working too for inventory space.
Everytime I log out to sleep, then log in the next day, I find a 50 kamas sale of all the showcases I made....
Guess people are too busy grind gobbals to craft their own shit.
(True that, am still lvl 11 since the beginning of the beta)

update with quests n' new content coming wednesday

I heard on the forum they're doing a point reset or something.
They tend to do that with every update when they change something stat/spell related.
You simply get all your points back (the ones that go into stats + support skills), and you have to re-allocate them.
That's it.
cool, time to try Air Sram, then. :D
hmm it would seem like they made srams even better, rather than nerfing them...
oh well
Sacriers' skill set is a mess...
Ecaflips are pretty interesting though. I never really hit it big, but i guess you need that precision passive to really do some insane damage. That being said, water ecaflips would be a great party member for earth sacriers.

I think you would be surprised. I've been having a lot of fun with that double or quits spell. It's pretty OP sometimes.

Yeah i've been reading that people go for double or quits on fire eca spamming roulette for the winning streak. Once they proc ecaflip precision they use double or quits for insane damage.
But there's a problem with that: Double or Quits can just as easily heal all that damage you did. It IS a 50% chance for either, and I usually end up just healing any damage I did.
So let's say you do 20 or so damage. Then you use DoQ, and do another 20. One more time maybe? Whoops, healed all 40 of that damage. Sucks to be you.
Hey everyone, will there be a wipe when the launch date arrives?
I hope not.
This game's been around since 2007, and they've wiped every time.
Hell, at one point they decided to just start over from scratch, recreating everything in the game. Twice.
They're gonna wipe. If I can live through 5 years of wipes, you can get through 1.
Although it still sucks.
