Basically when you're not sure you can stop the enemy capper in time so you opt to go for their flag instead to prevent them from capturing.

So I just finished downloading, launched it and then when the game finally starts up I just get a blackscreen and crash to desktop. Whaaat.

Its easiest against a flag carrier. Longest kill is 28000m for me, got it in Katabatic. The flag carrier was going 300+ after a shrike grab, I love when they go fast in a straight line away from me, so easy to hit.

Longest shot I got as a sentinel was around 37000m, it feels great when you kill someone going at a high speed.

The system that registers the distance is completely botched. I've gotten 1000+ meters when all I do is get in close to enemies and blast them with the Spinfusor. Also, if you have played BF3, you should have seen or heard of people doing 1000 meter shots and they're basically from one corner of the map to the other. The Tribes Ascend maps are definitely not 37 times bigger than the biggest BF3 maps. Hell, 37000 meters (which is ~111000 feet) would probably put you in space if you measured upwards

If the maps were 37,000m long, then at 150kph, it would take you just under fifteen minutes to cross the map. Once. For some perspective, 37,000m is over 23 miles.

I pre-ordered the game. Worth it.

Is someone else getting problems on the checkout phase? It says that I have nothing on my cart, so I can't conclude the transaction.

Does anyone think that a slight damage increase for headshot with the Sentinel would be nice? I'm thinking 500 (normal) for bodyshots, and 600 for headshots. This rewards you for being able to aim at the almost non-existent stumps that Tribes calls "heads" and also punishes THOSE GODDAMN JUGGERNAUTS WHO JUST STAND AROUND AND MIRV LAUNCH ALL DAY BTW I played until 4 AM yes... today. I noticed people on European servers were going to sleep, so I switched to USA East. Feels good man, 100 ping.

Someone was blocking the flag so i hit him with a disk while I flew in, he barely budged but with my new perk I could pass right by him picking up the flag. He pressed E. I still can't buy preorder. Tried 3 different cards, tried paypal and 3 different browsers. Same problem all the time. I get "Could not validate credit card. Please re-enter card number, expiration and cvv." with all 3 cards and "unable to bill order" with paypal. What the fuck :(

I love that feeling when you get a crazy Idea and it works, like throwing a grenade on the ground while someone is chasing you and killing them, or skiing up behind a camping heavy, knifing him twice and hitting him point blank with the thumper before he can even turn around, and flying off into the sunset on the knockback with another well-deserved kill.

I bought myself 3000 gold and a booster w/ VIP. Got my hands on the tech thumper, 27 kills, lol. Love the bolt launcher as well, and the stealth spinfusor, etc, etc.

This game is so good although I have killed a grand total of 6 people from playing this for 4 hours. I am also getting like 30 fps which is unfortunate. Need to get a new computer.
