Then you are indeed using it wrong.
Waiting for your energy to regenrate back to full between each shot is like reloading the sniper rife after each shot.
Just hold your fire button after your first shot and feel the magic.
I tried this now, and I think it would work if I could actually hit more than 2 out of the 5 shots. God my aim sucks.
[editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
You know, they couldve written in the weapon description that holding down fire keeps the damage high.
[editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
They're gonna nerf that. Definitely.
[editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
So I used that newly learned technique and topped my teams leaderboard with an ultra kill and 21:12. Thanks man.

Fuck I should've frapsed that game.
im touching myself while i download this game
I decided to try this game out because of that meme that has sprought. I wasn't expecting much that's why I hadn't tried it before.
After playing 3 rounds all I've to say is
this game is fucking awesome
Tho skiing is a little bit tricky, especially turning, I've no idea on how to turn, I just try to change my direction with the jetpack while gliding and if I can use terrain to go backwards I'll.
Well this is the most glitchy piece of shit beta I've ever tried.
Why is EVERYTHING black? Why are there no textures? Where's my damn mouse!
Why is it like this on both of my computers?
The thumper is the most infuriating piece of shit ever. Maybe 500 hours of MW2 have conditioned me to a bias against anything that has any similarity to a grenade launcher whatsoever, and I'm not saying it should be nerfed, but god damn do I get pissed when I get killed by that thing. Especially if the motherfucker has something between 5 and 15 % of his damn health left. I get a few good games now that I know how to use the Phase Rifle and the game manages to piss me off by putting me on Bella Omega, worst map IMO, against countless thumpers. :v:
Just got done with a round on Crossfire where half the enemy team was Technicians. I saw ~7 light turrets all over their ship. Some how we still won though.

Validate your files, fixed it for me.

Join us in the grand thumping

Its based a bit on mass. Lighter classes can turn slightly better than heavy ones.
The faster you go, the harder it is to turn. So if you are a heavy going 180, dont expect to turn.
does anyone want to be my friend o';
my acc is 'funionly'
Is anyone else unable to join CTF?

Past 180 your turns will be about half the map. You have to mainly rely on terrain to turn. At the 225+ threshold there is absolutely no hope of turning, and everything you do relies on terrain.
I hate games with career cappers that know all the cheap routes. It's like I might as well go spectator, because unless you manage to kill them right as they touch the flag, they might as just teleport to their own base as soon as they touch it.

Sounds like your team lacked defense.
on katabatic(?) I'm the dickhead technician that puts 3 motion sensors and 2 turrets in the rib cage kinda area, gets the cappers every fucking time :v: Because it's either try to go through there or choose the shit route.
Why the fuck does the game freeze for about 1 second, then instantly take me to the main menu with no error message or anything?
It's so annoying when i'm about to get enough xp to buy a new class and then nope removed from game instantly
Why do people keep saying Light Turrets need a nerf? They are a defensive item that players deploy. Alone, a single turret does 65 damage and can be pretty much insta-killed by any explosive weapon.
Yeah, in groups they are nasty, but isn't that the point? Guess what, everything is nasty when in groups. Get a bunch of Sentinels on your team and you have claymores up the ass and no one can even move.
It's called defending for a reason. You're saying you want things to be nerfed so the enemy can raid your base? Wtf.
Turrets are insanely hard to kill as soldier without the spinfusor, the only way to get rid of one without losing half your health and having the tech thump you for the rest is to spam it around a corner, which any tech with a handful of IQ points can avoid. Kinda ruins the point of being a generalist if you can't touch the generator at all.

Or, you know, use the thumper
Or, you know, use the thumper
Thumper DX doesn't one-shot it and the reload time is slow enough that you're practically dead after hitting the second or swapping to AR to finish it off.
I main juggernaut and I never have to really deal with turrets. I can just pit a mortar in the room they are in and its gone. Nerfing them would make me unstoppable.

high five person who rated me informative!
i fucking love getting mortar shots timed correctly and raping people
god damn it i feel stupid for spending all my XP and not taking into account the Arx is absolute crap
time to spend $10

Thank you, took forever though.
Hooray for 4chan, that was a good game.
What's up with the prism mines? It is not doing a good "mine" job when it is emitting a bright green line. Am I missing something? I am not using it myself, just curious.

probably best used around corners or under an incline
Thank you, took forever though.
Mine literally takes forever, as in stuck on 17.5% validation for 5 hours and when I restarted it's now stuck on 0% forever. Just wrote out a support case and the diagnostic tool crashed, nice.
Oh man this is fantastic. I just got the winning capture on a pretty evenly matched game. I was playing Diamond Sword soldier on Drydocks, and for the first two caps my team mates just rolled in and got the flag. But then they took down our generator for about 7 minutes, bringing our offense to a halt as we had to deal with about 2 dreadnaught guys and one of those invisible soldiers (raider?) Finally we got it up and running and a tech laid down some turrets to defend the generator room, and I went back topside. The Blood eagles has our flag but we had theirs.
It was close but finally they reclaimed their flag. They quickly grabbed their flag, capped then grabbed our flag again. And zoomed off. I decided I had sat around defending to much and I gotta go fast. So I zoomed off after the Blood Eagle shazbot, with an ally. We catch up to him, by now we are near the Blood Eagle base, but far enough away the turrets cant shoot us. We deal with him as my ally gets the killing blow, but we see our flag has been taken again. He zooms off to our base to reclaim our flag, and I decide to rush the enemy base as most of the enemies are protecting their flag carrier. The match is DS 4 BE 3 so it's nearly tied. I zoom down the hill getting about 200 fasts and ride right into their flag, a juggernaut chases me but I pull a 90 degree turn and he has trouble keeping up. I use my thumper to propel my self forward a bit, giving me some extra speed but it takes my health down really low. I'm not even trying to fight the juggernaut who is a bit behind me, but still lands a hit every now and again. I dodge the lasers and finally I'm near our base. Our flag is still gone but I'm going to fast to slow down and stopping would lead to my death, so I keep going THE ENEMY HAS DROPPED OUR FLAG Almost at the pole... DIAMOND SWORD HAS RECLAIMED THEIR FLAG I hit top speed and zoom into the pole and cap the 5th point for my team, winning the game.
I am the greatest!

Afaik the enemy can't see the green line, that's just for your team, but I've never seen anyone else use them so I can't confirm that.

It's not crap, you just gotta aim better, and you can use it to take out shit at ridiculous ranges, it has further range than the mortar if you aim it right :v:
Afaik the enemy can't see the green line, that's just for your team, but I've never seen anyone else use them so I can't confirm that.
Nope, you do see the green line on enemy's prism mine. Hence why I am curious on its true purpose.
On the flip side, the Doombringers mine has great concealment (small and blends with the environment) and decent trigger radius (though this could be perk related).

Then I agree with you, what the shit is the purpose of it.
[editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
And I agree on the doombringer mines, those things are fucking fun to put in a triangle pattern around the flag, instagibs anything that tries to grab the flag.

Also opinions, mortar or MIRV? Which one to use indoors and which to use outdoors.
