Tribes: Ascend v2: I went slow once and it was awful

Made another account cause I decided to try out the bolter, I'm getting shitload of air mails all of the sudden and generally feel the best playing Pathfinder, so it might be my main account now :v: Name's MudcrabMerchant if anyone gives a fuck.
US
Raijin - RaijinZD
Played Juggerbro for the first time yesterday, on Drydock. Dropping Fusion shells on the enemy base when they grab our flag. I turn around, calculate his path (going straight down middle), and fire. Get the kill.
This is the best class.
Just unlocked Infiltrator.
EU/EA - ViralHatred
I play both, I seem to get better connectivity on US servers for some reason.
Ugh, why didn't they give out enough gold for Raider?
I just played on an amazing server. Everyone was complimenting each other on good shots and such and there was tons of team work. I got the flag and hid in the ship, so 6 people stood and defended me and put up forcefields and such. It was awesome.
Why is it everytime I choose Blood Eagle i'm always with the team who's only feat at this game is dying constantly, whereas with Diamond Sword i'm with people who actually defend, attack and chase.

It happens the other way around to me
I unlock the sentinel it so fucking sweet to plant two claymore mines right in the flag and watch those silly idiots blowing up.
Finished the model on the sword, mine's on the right and his is on the left.
I know they looks similar that's what I was going for.

who what
who what
It's from the Skyrim mod, I originally wanted to create a papercraft diamond sword but just ended up remaking his model neater.

I see no difference.

Then I am successful in my job.

Tribes: Ascend v3: I went Brute once and it was awful
I did a direct hit mid air with an impact nitron once. Felt good man.
I killed my self by flying through the vehicle station with the enemy flag just as someone was buying a vehicle :v:
I think it was the only vehicle anyone bought that round too.
They sure put in effort for the placement of the trees though.
Like, "How can we piss off the Pathfinders even more"
So I'm getting the hang of playing as a pathfinder. I mean, I was always good at capping the flag, but just recently I've been geting the gotta go fast accolades.
god dam there was this dude on that map with the ships who managed through some glitch to call in a inv station right infront of the flag which meant that all the enemy pathfinders went splat straight into it

Did you try shooting it? That works on almost any trick in the game.
Can anyone here describe exactly how the "hitscan" weapons like assult rifles and smgs work? I find I have to lead some of my targets and others I have to actually track. I can't hit anything in this game unless my gun shoots a slow moving projectile. I don't think I've ever bagged even one kill with the Soldier's assault rifle.
In unrelated news Drydock is the best Juggernaught map in the world. Get on that cliff above the enemy base, pull down your pants and let 'er rip. Best base pooping I've ever done.

Assault rifles and SMG's aren't hitscan weapons.
Hitscan means when you fire the calculation of damage is done instantly, there's no bullet travel time, basically.
Sniper rifles, shotguns and pistols are hitscan. Assault Rifles, SMG's and everything else aren't.

the soldier's AR isn't hitscan

Not sure what there is to describe that you haven't already said. They're of course not actually hit scan, just really fast projectiles, so you have to lead your shots. But this gets annoying due to the low projectile inheritance (for example, IRL and in a vacuum, if you're moving at 50 K/PH and fire a bullet to the left of you, the bullet travels the same 50 K/PH in your direction in addition to whatever vector the bullet is moving as it's fired. But in Tribes, if you're moving at 50 K/PH and fire a bullet to the left you you, the bullet only travels 25 KP/H in your direction.) which isn't a fault of the physics engine as much as a fault of design (since the inheritance for some reason used to change depending on your speed and they adjusted it to a flat 50%), so not only to you have to compensate for your target's velocity, but for your own due to the weird inheritance as well as, to a minor degree, you and your target's ping.
The only actual hitscan weapons I know of off the top of my head are the Soldier's Eagle Pistol and the Sentinel's BXT Rifle (default sniper rifle).
