Tribes: Ascend v2: I went slow once and it was awful
Pathfinders are not base attacking classes and thus usually don't even have to worry about turrets as they usually whizz past them 200+ sanics. As someone who has been playing tech for months, I can safely say that pathfinders are a class I don't often kill. They are just too mobile for the low damage turret to kill.
Unless a infiltrator is flag capping, they're usually inside the base, where there is many corridors and places to pop out, shoot a round, and pop back again. A person is a very poor inf if they stand there and let a turret shoot them. They also have sticky nades.
My point was not killing these classes, but the fact that the turrets are a massive nuisance for them, turrets really shouldn't be able to kill things by themselves. You will find however that around the base you can very easily kill these classes with the smg when you have a turret or two to help.
The Arx has a high rate of fire, so it can fire 2 stickies before the turret even knows you're there. Raiders also have a shield to protect from turret fire and a jammer pack that makes them invisible to turrets entirely.
Raiders have no issue killing turrets, and shouldn't take any damage if they use their pack properly. My point was simply that 2 arx shots is worse than 1 :v: I find when I play raider that I have to be really careful with ammo.
Technician:
-Big thumper - roughly similar to standard spinfuser
-Simple standard grenades that do minimal damage
-Turrets with 900 health and 65 damage (can be taken out with pretty much any explosive weapon)
-Repair tool with option of secondary gun which is average at best
Juggernaut:
-Spinfuser MDK. Does 10dmg less than the Spinfuser but has huge splashdamge range.
-Mortar/MIRV can pretty much destroy and entire base singlehandedly in a matter of seconds. A single shot of either indoors can clear an entire room.
- SUPER AP grenades. Can pretty much insta-kill any living thing besides heavies, which it several damages.
-Health-regen pack means it can quickly duck out of combat and regen it's huge health-bar back in seconds.
-Heavy armor means that it can take a LOT of punishment and keep going. Also means it's pretty much immune from sniper fire, combined with the regen pack and the mortar means it's unstoppable at long ranges.
Don't give me that bullshit about the tech being OP.
Didn't I write a 1000 word essay on why the tech was OP?
Did everyone just skip over that?
:suicide:
No, it needs more damage. 500 damage is pathetic.
2 Shots for lights, 3 shots for mediums, 6 shots for heavies.
This too. The damage is way to low plus more zoom is a must because sniping in this game is like trying to shoot Speedy gonzales in the middle of the desert. You barely see your target, you just see a dot moving at speed of light.
I miss the soldier having the spinfusor... why they made it so expensive is beyond me
Does the utility pack for the soldier actually work? For me it doesn't change anything from the energy pack, I have the same HP, the same amount of grenades and the same energy regardless of which 1 I pick.
Edit:
Ah someone from HiRez said it's being fixed next patch.
I got the Sawn-Off, but I never feel like it's more useful than a mastered improved repair tool.
Hello Blood Eagles.
Look at your Pathfinder, now back to me, now back at your pathfinder, now back to me! Sadly, he isn't me. But if he stopped using Determination and switched to Egocentric, he could go fast like he's me. Look down, back up, where are you? You're on Katabatic with the Pathfinder your Pathfinder could go fast like. What's in your hand? Back at me, I have it. It's an armor with a sword to kill the things that you hate. Look again, the sword is now diamond. Anything is possible when your Pathfinder goes fast like a Diamond Sword and not a Blood Eagle. I'm on a gravcycle.
Is infiltrator a good class? I have enough gold but I don't want to waste it like I did on sentinel.
SENT isnt a waste if you have good aim...

no it doesnt

Not even an excellent post like this can make you dirty sandrakers worthy.
Haha, I was playing Arx Novena as a Juggernaut, and there was a Sentinel on one of the rooftops that sits on top of the canals. I jetpacked up to him, then stood in front of him while was scoped in. He spazzed out and jetpacked away then ended up killing me because I had no ammo and had to resort to melee. After I died he said I made him pee himself. :v:
I hope you [VGH]'d
Oh boy stock infiltrator is hard to get used to after playing raider and brute.
What perks should I get, close-combat of course, but for the second one its either survivalist or super-heavy.
Super-heavy looks really fun to stand invisible on flags and have cappers splat against me, but I'm worried about the mass increase. Either way, I have enough gold to get all 3 and a 30-day booster :v:
This too. The damage is way to low plus more zoom is a must because sniping in this game is like trying to shoot Speedy gonzales in the middle of the desert. You barely see your target, you just see a dot moving at speed of light.
this game isn't balanced around your incapacity at sniping, two shotting lights with the rifle is right considering they usually have half health after picking up the flag
in competitive games sents are always at the top of the leaderboard with 20 kills, compared to the other players that usually end the match with less than 10
they might need to bring the BXT1 on par with the phase rifle because that thing is just way too awesome
Sniper rifle damage is perfect if you play for support instead of offense. Claymore on the flag means any cappers going down with one clean shot. If they don't go down after that your chasers will love you even if your shot doesn't kill them.
I can't tell you how many pathfinders I've bagged just hanging a tiny bit behind our chasers and making sure that claymore is always on the flag. I do agree that shooting fast people is annoying but once they're in the air it's easy pickings thanks to that oh-so-predictable jump arc.

survivalist because the energy regain is amazing

the bxt1 has more dps than the phaserifle if anything they need to bring the PR up to match the bxt1
I just started playing tribes and I noticed this thing with doombringers putting force fields directly on top of the flag, the one time I tried to grab a flag with a force field on top of it I some how suicided. Is there something up with that?

if that's the case, i think it's fine
you can noscope and don't need to charge pre-emptively with the PR which makes it much more versatile IMO
Raider and Brute can be so much fun. Sure, rushing gen rooms will cause you to die frequently, but if you can maintain a high K/D through aftermath revenge kills you will be raking in the credits. This becomes absurd when coupled with Bounty Hunter.

but with the phase rifle that first shot only does 510 and drains all your energy then youre stuck waiting a little over 5.5 seconds until you can match the damage of the bxt1. being able to noscope isnt an upside at all because once you fire thats it you have no more(or very low with perks) energy so if you noscope someone harassing you youll have no energy to get away from them and will die(assuming they dont suck)
bxt1 also lets you jetpack and shoot, so you can use it to hit people who are behind objects. Very handy for shooting flag-carriers that go behind small hills.
exactly with the phaserifle youre pretty much forced to either walk everywhere or use your energy and not be able to shoot for max damage for a few seconds

it drains something like 70-80 energy for a full charge and with recharge pack it goes up very quickly, i use double ultra capacitors myself to get as much energy
the base damage without any charge with the PR is fairly high too (175 i think) while the BXT1 does only 10 damage uncharged and either way, i think it's a matter of preference because i feel incredibly static with the BXT1 and it has little use for close range combat unlike the PR
it also charges very slowly if you are skiing

but at the end of the day the bxt1 is just plain better than the PR in terms of dps, not to mention you free up the 2 perks with the bxt1 and the ability to fend off harassment easier

Claymore mines are so damn sweet. I love put a pair arround the generator corner or over the flag.
My opinion on BXT1 V phase rifle:
It should be swapped around.
The phase rifle should be the high accuracy sniper rifle for defense.
The BXT1 should allow you to be more mobile.
Anybody get a Supply Drop kill yet?
Someday I'm gonna get one.

I've gotten one early on in beta but my friend got one a few days ago on some dumbass juggy
Are servers down for everyone or is it just me?
you
>Brute
>maxed out grenades
>Safety Third
>Survivalist
The gen room is now laser party central.
Also, so few people realized that you can ride passenger on a grav cycle with the flag.
Fewer still realize the grave cycle can go on the big lava pit in the middle of temple ruins cos bitch, it fucking hovers!
Put two and two together.
230km/h Flag grab.
Feels good.
