If I am not moving at speeds more then 50 km/h things don't feel right now, unless I'm playing an RPG then I'm still OK. I just make the FOV really wide so it seems faster.
Also just had a fun match on Arx Novena if though we lost. I went 30-8-14, kills, deaths, assist. I want everyone to take back what they said about how a juggernaut will win in a fight against a Sentinel if he's not brain dead. I just did it to them multiple times.
I also got an awesome kill on a raider hidding in the corner of the room with a reflected shot spam, found a cloaked infilitrator 30 seconds in and killed him while just doing a "cleansing" blaster spam to cover all the corners. One of the kills was awesome, the laser reflected fort about 1/8 of a second and then the person walked into it like a tripwire killing him. It made me feel bad for brutes, they need something.
Using the ceiling I got 3 kills on people in the actual gen room without going inside it. I also made videoP stop playing Sentinel just so he would hunt me as a pathfinder. It was a good game, though I wish my team had, had a capper.
I also went midfield/offensive sniper later on when I knew we were boned. I killed all the deployables on the enemy flag using my blaster. I also learne something then, at ranges <50 feet the flacon is better then the nova blaster. At distances >50 feet the Nova Blaster is better in a duel because I can weave between his bullets when on foot, and mine are harder to see.

shrikes are fun
sort of
Tribes honestly doesn't feel anywhere near as fast as the speedometer says it is. Large maps and lack of air control kill the feeling of speed to the point that ~80kph in quake live feels better than 200 in T:A. With more air control, faster accel, better jetpacks it could be a game I'd spend thousands of hours on, but in its current state I doubt it'll last long once I have all the classes checked out fully.

you just need to go faster

It doesn't, but neither do other games like racing games. Try turning up your FOV.
Honestly though I don't see how that's an issue, you should appreciate the game for the fun, strategy and challenge it provides, not how big some arbitrary number is.

speaking of which, fuck infiltrators
I'm already at 120 degrees. The lack of control and gigantic maps just make skiing feel stupid compared to the speed solutions other games have. Not being able to turn around or stop and reaccelerate quickly destroys a lot of the short term strategy and limits it to an overall game plan at each spawn.
holy fuck I went through 17 matches where the entire round, the enemy gen room was chock full of thumpernicians,
jugs mines turrets and motion sensors. God damn being an inf is really painful.
My backstab perk stopped working effectively too.
Also, fuck jammer raiders and hidden drop jammers.

Pathfinder have heaps of control it's about using slopes to steer yourself.

Of course there is some control gained through using slopes but with the bad terrain on most maps there isn't much of a chance of doing a quick 180 the moment you notice something that warrants a change in direction. Lack of decent air control slows down the real pace of the game a ton.

Consider that if you had total control over your heading and direction then there would be no point to going fast at all.
Like seriously if you had more control you could just take a game like COD and slap a speedometer on it that says you're walking at 300kph.
In reality you don't have control when you go so fast, so the game is about planning and strategy. You aren't supposed to do a sudden 180 when you feel like it, because that's the cost of going fast.
I love it when this game gets down to the wire. I just finished several Team Deathmatch games where two of them were finished with 1 vs 2 or 1 vs 1. And it all depended on who had the flag.

You just claimed in one post that control would ruin the point of going fast and that it removes the cost of going fast. Air control and better accel would allow players to move more dynamically in 1v1 DM type situations which means more skill would be added to their currently very lifeless mechanics. It would also allow for more actual teamwork because players aren't stuck rocketing towards the enemy base while yours is getting raped or stuck going incredibly slowly away from yours while the enemy base needs attacking. It would lead to a fast paced game with less camping flags or gens and more of what makes Tribes a unique fun game.

When I just star I have the same complain, but after a while you can stop yourself if you let the space bar and jet pack in the opposite direction.
Also heavy classes can stop they runs very easy thanks to his mass.

Well that's just like... your opinion man.
I can't really say anymore because I simply disagree with you on everything. I don't think the game is lifeless, I don't see a lack of teamwork (aside from the usual disarray that comes from pub matches in any game).
Higher control would simply make it a contest of who has the most jetpack energy or most spammy weapon, because anyone who has energy can change their heading easily, making it impossible to predict paths and lead a spinfusor.
i hate teamwork
everyone either block my grenades/mortars so i die
or
steal all my kills. ALL of them

Higher control means an actual requirement for projectile aim and reading the enemy, not just the leading required right now. Of course the game would have to be rebalanced and tweaked to fit around higher air control and one of those tweaks could be faster projectile speed or larger hitboxes. Spamming wouldn't even be more effective because dodging the spam would be no problem. Teamwork is definitely lacking in public matches and not being mechanically discouraged to change roles would help fix that.

You don't need fast turns if you just know where to land and shit.
But if you really want a solution to that, a grapple would help. It was in Vengeance

I've never played vengeance but the grapple looked awesome :v:

I don't have any more problems turning than the average player, I just think everyone should be able to turn quickly.
47000xp to go till I've got that beautiful Thumper on my tech
I love how the game is now, it takes knowledge of the map to turn and it's a lot easier than you would think.
Fly up a little higher then turn yourself to the side of a slope going in the direction you would like to go.
You will slow down depending on the angle and if you have forward momentum. A 180 degree turn isn't possible without slowing to a crawl but it isn't hard to turn a second time.
I want to be able to have another player ride on my Shrike like the Green Goblin.
Next unlock I'm getting is the proxie grenade for Soldier.
Better be worth it.

Ah, so what you're saying is that you want to be playing a completely different fucking game.
Nearly lost the will to play now. 64803/100000 for the thumper and under 2 hours of the booster left.
Tempted to just buy the other classes instead.
GOD I hate people. So the other team got 4 caps and then decided to farm, even though you don't get XP for kills. Sure, you get XP for Accolades and ranking on your team, but not for individual kills. Which is all they were doing. It was really fucking annoying and they dragged the match out for another 15 minutes.

Longer matches are good though, you'll get more XP in the end

So the other team helped everyone get a longer match, which is more XP for everyone. Your problem?
