Anyone have trouble playing Technician? Even when you can place 2 turrets they are destroyed in a wimp from even the greatest distances, not to mention they don't work when someone destroys the generator. You can't go alone to repair the generator because pretty much every other class beats you one on one (unless you spent 100.000 XP for a Thumper as primary weapon) Also upgrading the generator doesn't seem to add that much health, they still get blowed up within seconds.
Also even placing 2 turrets at the flag sometimes isn't enough to kill off a Pathfinder going in at high speed to grab your flag.
While I understand that this game does not aim to be a turtling game but rather fast paced action game, I just don't see how to do his role well compared to other classes.
Place the turrets around corners.

The Technician without thumper has a massive disadvantage versus pretty much every other class at the Generator room incase you want to defend that because his main weapon isn't explosive, and explosives are very effective indoor.

umm no? if you have good aim you can take down any class with the smg... it destroys heavies like theyre nothing rips through lights like butter if you have good aim and mediums are killed decently quickly(with good aim, again). add grenades and turrets into that and anyone trying to camp your generator is going to get destroyed 1 on 1. and if theres more than one person down there defending the broken generator from techs trying to repair that means more people not defending their flag/trying to take yours.

maybe not from 1 to 2(or 2->3) but the difference from lvl-1 and lvl-4 is very noticeable to people trying to destroy it
people need to remember that this isnt capture the generator yeah its nice to have some of the base assests but its not worth trying to defend the gen against tons of guys if you cant repair the gen and just keep dying youre useless to your team
Capping the enemy flag as a Juggernaut is satisfying as fuck. I'm 2 fast 4 u pathfinders. My bowels get really active when I touch sandraker flags because I poop out fusion mortar shells all the way back to glorious Blood Eagle base.

Do you like using ballistic guns? The X1 is similar to the chaingun except you (shock and awe) actually have to aim it.
I like it because it's more useful outdoors and has more longevity than the MDK because you get shitloads of ammo :v:
However it is worse indoors or for gen raping, which is what most people jugg for...

No one seems to understand the default technician is FUCKING GOOD.
With the thumper, it just becomes laughable.

Thats what I do now when pathfinders are trying to kill me midfield. Fly directly at them, they usually die. Its hilarious.
I'll never understand why the technician can have a thumper, I mean, I do enjoy playing as the techie myself quite a lot, but even if I had enough xp to buy it, I wouldn't, it just doesn't fit..

And also the way it can one shot an infiltrator is just bullshit, just like the bolt launcher, in my opinion, there shouldn't be one-shots in a game basic around aiming like that, especially when it can all boil down to "woops you had a suit upgrade that gave you 1second of additional flight above me so you win cause one shot".

It can't one-shot them when they have all the armor upgrades. Infilitrators have 1000 hp with all upgrades.

The most important upgrades to get on most classes are the armor upgrades. They make pathfinder better at boosting. The last upgrade for most classes boost health. The thumper isn't overpowered, it is the Thumper DX pre-nerf, which has identical stats to the Soldier Spinfusor. The Tech is a medium class, he has a weapon in line with other mediums.

I'd say the same health as a light class (that's an entire fucking player in a deployable) is pretty damn tough, ESPECIALLY considering how quickly the tech can pop them back up when they die.
As for the damage, that 65 per shot equates to over 400 damage per second. That's only [I]slightly[/I] lower than spinfusors and thumpers. Keep in mind that is for a single turret, which the tech can rapidly deploy two of.
The bottom line is the turrets are fucking good. In a 1v1 where turret verses a player, of course the turret is going to get its ass kicked. But if you're putting turrets in the right place, you have at least a couple of people on defense, and you as the technician supplement with your SMG, they are fucking amazing.

I feel like the chain gun should fire twice as much bullets that do half damage, or be more similar to TF2's minigun with its multiple projectiles per shot. DPS should stay the same, but getting hits shouldn't be a pain especially when every other automatic weapon is better.

Boring but powerful. Brutes weapons aren't particularly interesting, but are devastating. You're basically just playing a beefed up Soldier. Brute functions best indoors, and is good on both defence and offence.
Its a fairly well rounded class, but I don't play it as much these days now that I've got the hang of Raider.

I really hope Raider gets a new secondary at some point, I do like the SMG but I feel like a shotgun of some sort would fit well with its indoor focus.
