Tribes: Ascend v2: I went slow once and it was awful

Starting to really get pissed off at the people that play this game, two fucking mortars and a tech thumper in that generator room at all times.
shoot at infs feet with thumper for instakill = skill
Headshot them for extra fun.
Also Funion go back to studying you are in school you should focus on working.
Just had a horrible couple of matches with people camping the spawn, getting blown up 5 seconds after spawning.
Then they just raped me from 50 meters away with a shotgun, load of bollocks.
Also can't decide, looter, close combat or bounty hunter as infil, close combat instagibs mediums with backstabs and takes a huge chunk out of heavies, but bounty hunter allows for more airstrikes, and looter is just:

I now have the thumper for my technician!
There shall be a special place in hell reserved for me once I get to grips with it.

The blood eagles have not made anywhere near the amount of sticky bombs that I will shove up your ass for using that :C
Also dat feel when you're lobbing stickies at a generator at range and it hits another infil that was just hanging out :v:
I honestly see nothing wrong with Thumpnicians if they use it to properly defend their base. It's when they go on the offensive...that's a problem.
Let's see, give the token base defending class a weapon that will oneshot a fully upgraded token base destroyer class, that is splash damage and that you can just spam because you have infinite ammo in your own base. Sounds like an awesome idea.

So if they switch to brute and own you with that instead it's ok? Despite the brute doing more damage and having more health?
lmao
Brutes are slow, thus more manageable, and they're easier to hit with grenades too.

Not to mention they can't poop out multiple turrets.
And if I kill the tech and they switch to brute that gives me enough time to destroy the generator and set up a trap.
This thread reminds me, I need to max out my fractal grenades and such as soon as possible. Right now me and a friend got a two man generator operation going on where he plays Juggernaut and I play Soldier and we just camp in the enemy generator and keep it down for the whole match. It's really fun on maps like Katabatic where he can just stand out in the open and lure the angry techs to him and then I zoom in, spinfusor and thumper at the ready.
I can't help but think all of it would be more fun if I had a completely decked out Brute or a Raider with a jammer pack.
ALL OF THE HATE IN GAME
It's so beautiful! Instantly started to dominate all those fucks who would bully me with explosives. 2shot nearly all!
To hell I go
i'm not even kidding, everyone else sucks at skiing
literally everyone else

Brute juggernaut doombringer is pretty much impossible to get through, huge splash, disco grenades, and bolters+mines
the fully upgraded smg is actually pretty good.
I was playing pure defensive and I got the most kills on the entire server as technician. Came fouth overall on server exp-wise.
I like this thumper.

Best game I've ever had.
Love how golden disagreed with me, it is good, you just need to have a tiny bit of aiming :v:

As you can see it actually kills mediums faster than the thumper :v:
Actually the smg is better at everything except killing a heavy in one magazine, but it almost does it, so if a turret got a shot or two in, the smg is still better.
How long have you been playing? I have no problems hitting with the smg indoors, and when you think about it, if you miss a single thumper shot, you're fucked.
Those graphs are so bullshit because they assume you and your target are standing 100% still and that every. single. one. of your shots is a direct hit.
This is Tribes. Your targets are NEVER standing still, indoors or outdoors. He's got a Spinfuser which does AOE, you've got a projectile-based SMG that does 80dmg if you actually manage to hit him - who do you think is going to win?
Don't forget that you also have to compensate for the 50% projectile inheritance and slight lag CONSTANTLY with the SMG.
The smg has almost no spread, and if they're not in the air against you if you're using the stealth spinfusor they're doing it wrong.
[editline]6th March 2012[/editline]
And as someone else mentioned earlier, the smg is much better at chasing down flag carriers with low health.
As long as you keep the power on and turrets deployed I don't care how often or efficiently a tech kills people. I just don't like to see a family of pathfinders getting their pictures taken next to our base turrets like we're the asshole tank of the Tribes Ascend Zoo.
Don't tap on the forcefields, it confuses the Doombringers and makes them swim in circles.
As much as I enjoy the other aspects of this game, I despise the fact that I always, without fail, get stuck on the losing team.
It's made worse by the fact that as a terrible player, this isn't really giving me any room to improve when I'm getting curb-stomped by everyone on the other team near-constantly.
Last round, I didn't even hit anyone, and my team didn't even score a kill.
In other words, the matchmaking really needs to be improved.
Either that or the RNG hates me.
Please someone explain the Mechanic perk to me? (if you've tried it). It talks about being able to damage enemy items but the upgrades increase repair speed. Does that mean actually repairing your own stuff or increased damage?
Fairly sure it means faster repair but want to make sure before I actually get it.
Also any suggestions on the best perks for technician?
Is there like double xp today?
I got 7k xp from 2 rounds...had 8k when i started, after 2 round i had 15k...

I think it's the new update where unlocked badges now give you EXP.
The new badges are great, it feels good making 150k XP in a day.
just made 9k in 1 match
[VGW]
please say it was xp, not credits
please
whoa
i bought a one-day booster yesterday
now i log on and instead of saying "5 hours left" it's "3 days left"
cool
