I would never get a 1-day boost. I know you get a lot of exp from boosters but surely you'd still have to sink the better part of a day into playing to get a decent amount.

The only time I would buy a 1 day booster is if you haven't played since they added badges. You would have to play a lot just to to break even with a 1 day boost

Most of the people who use the free gold from fb are new players.

They wouldn't make many profit since they skills are low, and one day boost is way to short.
