I wish there was a perk to increase the damage of direct hits by 5/10/15%
I feel so bad for doing this good while talking on the phone the entire time [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/577825432514891929/04BC693EB51E750664920B5B71CFEDD2EFED2021/[/t] [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/577825432514899220/A30D2BBFE7AE5E560AD7B18C87B85F4FB8A9A709/[/t]
anyone else feel sentinels shouldn't exist at all? i feel like they're extremely out of place in this fast paced game, usually just camping in one area killing people from a really safe place where they don't really have to worry about being harassed. and a single half-decent sentinel can pretty much ruin all the fun of a match.
They do really kill the moment, flying through a base full of defenses, barely making out with the flag going 200+ sanics, getting shot in the leg and dying. A Sentinel that's on the move though won't be spotted by your team mates until you've been shot out of the air, some people just don't bother killing them.

People raged about it in T1, they raged about in T2, they didn't in T:V because the chaingun was so awesome. Offensive sniping has always made people rage, thats why I love it. The difference is before there was just the phase/laser rifle. But in old games there was no health regen so snipers were even more potent, they also would have a disc launcher and chaingun. People say the fog and map size solved it, but the distance between bases is comparable to Ascend, there is just an out of bounds in T1 and T2 so the maps can be bigger. Put bluntly you need a sniper to be able to stop very high speed grabs and to help end stand offs. I do agree that with Sentinels all that matters is them, not you, if they want to kill you you will die; probably.
Without spending gold it is incredibly hard to go faster than that, especially with a bolt launcher, and nitrons don't accelerate /that/ much.
I can get 300+ easily on katabatic with the default loadout
You can buy a booster for more EXP
You can indeed, but it's not going to help you go much faster.
Self-nitron while holding a flag forces you to drop it Self-nitron while holding a flag forces you to drop it WHY
Self-nitron while holding a flag forces you to drop it Self-nitron while holding a flag forces you to drop it WHY
Your spinfusor doesn't make you drop it. Don't see why everyone's so ticked about this. Although in tight spots where I would usually Nitron out, I can't anymore but I wouldn't need to if I was a better Pathfinder. Just gives me more incentive to punt it back to base on the next jump.
It drops your flag because it's a grenade made for dropping flags out of people's hands. Quit whining about it. It makes more sense than it did before.
should just make it so that the damage done to yourself is lower across all spinfusors, like the soldier in TF2. or make it so that self spinfusor shots are weaker at speed (like, excess of 100 SANICS) so that they can be used for going too fast

"Doing this good while on the phone." It's average, but decent enough if he's distracted talking about cute boys at the mall with his friend.
It seems none of you complainers have remembered the unlockable grenade for the Pathfinder; it has increased force but lacks the flag-fumble ability. They've just given us more reason to get that and the boost pack. It's going to cut down the effectiveness of the llama and it's going to make the quality of approach to the flag more important, as currently if you do it slowly and shittily you can recover from it with just one grenade. Chasers are going to have a slightly easier job, and cappers will actually need to put some effort in.
There's still the optional thrust and spinfusor though. The nades will be more geared to getting to the flag and preventing enemy caps. I'm no expert, but I wouldn't say it's that bad?
I always keep a nitron for after I have captured the flag, in case you need that quick boost to get to your flag, due to the little damage it did it was great even if you took a hit trying to get the flag. I'm really disappointed now, pathfinders were hard enough already with all the doombringers and technicians out there.

Personally I like the change though because it was too easy before, now you have to have a route instead of just thrust-packing from the stand and nitroning to base.

One spinfusor shot was about 3 nitrons with a third of the boost(may need to correct me on that). [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Ninjad [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Wait a minute.. would it be possible to start throwing the nitron, throw the flag in front of you, then turning around to make the nitron hit behind you in turn propelling you towards the flag and picking it back up again? Bit of a stretch but it might work at slower speeds. [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Sorry for the page stretch but does the flag have inheritance? ie if you go fast does it go further? [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Again with a page stretch but I just want to let you know that it doesn't work, the flag doesn't fly fast enough. :(
I'd be fine with the assault rifles and SMGs if they reduced projectile speed on them. The Shotgun is hitscan but that's fine since it only works well at close range or if your target's near death. The sniper rifles are fine because it takes a decent degree of skill to pull of a headshot with one at long range. That and most sentinels seem inattentive when it comes to their immediate surroundings. Melee bait. Spinfusor/Pathfinder only gamemode would be all I'd play in this game

On top of that you have to consider the 3 second grab block when throwing the flag.
Downloaded the beta, updated, start the game. I see the splash screen, screen goes dark for few seconds and it throws me back to desktop with error and crash dialog. Did use the hi-rez diagnostic tool, did google. Gpu drivers are up-to date Any ideas ?
Try ending the taskhost.exe process in taskmanager. It sounds like you are having the same problem as me but that fixes it. If that doesn't work create a new user on your computer with admin privilages, it doesn't matter if your current user account is already and admin.
How do people travel faster than 200? Fastest I've been as a pathfinder is about 200~ but I hear about people getting up to 300...
How do people travel faster than 200? Fastest I've been as a pathfinder is about 200~ but I hear about people getting up to 300...
I can get to about 300 if i boost myself, get a perfect ski down a good slope, and then boost myself with impact nitrons
I scarcely get over 250 myself... Then again, I mostly play sentinel.

My fastest flag cap is 345km/h on Arx Novena
My fastest flag cap is 345km/h on Arx Novena
I bloody hate that map, snipers and bug zappers everywhere.
My fastest flag cap is 345km/h on Arx Novena
I've had a cap at about that speed, but it was on old temple ruins. I miss old temple ruins. It's too flat now.
My top speed is like 150 sanics at best, how can I achieve true speeds
