Tribes: Ascend v2: I went slow once and it was awful

Sticking 3 jackal bombs to a sniper and watching him run around helplessly is priceless.
It's true that the heavy classes can't pilot shrieks anymore?
Haven't been able to since the start of beta.

I was saving up for the Phase Rifle, but with this new patch the Jackal came out, should I get that instead?
blue plate specials are so satisfying
Is it me, or is sentinel really bad overall? You can't even kill Heavies with the sniper and the pistol is just awful.
When you buy gold in tribes does it save your credit card info? I promised a friend I'd buy him some tribes gold as a gift but I'd need to buy it on his account and I don't want my credit card info saved on it.

Sentinel is beast, you 2 shot lights. You make heavies very annoyed.
The pistol is great if you can hit with it.

Just check it seems to have saved everything except the 3 digit security code is blank and credit card numbers are like ***-***-***-475. Though I can't remember if I asked it to save the information or not as I purchased so long ago.
so vip is permanent even if i just get the cheapest gold pack?

But i was a brute :o
I'm making a spreadsheet of all the things in the game files, so you can sort by likelihood of being included in future patches and such.

Here's what I've got so far. Very WIP at the moment.
What the fuck happened to this game's community
Now every Aus-region game I join, I get gigantic douchelords who refuse to teamplay, a clan who's apparently teamstacking on a bunch of servers at once, and people VGW-ing whenever they get a kill.
I think I'm going to wait for the update fever to wear off, because people are being huge assholes.
tips on playing jugger?

i'm really enjoying going to their base and fucking their shit up

Ever match I play ever on the US-East server, except it has been happening since the beginning. Also, I sure am glad they decided to release a weapon that excels in both air and ground combat. They also gave the daggers a ridiculous projectile speed which explains why I'm already getting sniped by people spamming all 30 of them they have in their inventory. This patch basically made infiltrators better than pathfinders at flag chasing, capping, killing, and pretty much everything else.
No, this isn't patch fever talking. Think about it logically. They gave the infiltrator a weapon that fires decent damage (500) explosives that can be manually detonated at any time, giving them amazing chasing/killing potential in basically any situation, whether it be in the air or on the ground. For targets that are moving quickly or just have low health in general, they gave them a knife that can be spammed relatively quickly (about 2 or 3 knives per second judging by videos) with 30 ammo (according to posts) that has an extremely fast projectile speed. It will only take 3 knives to kill light classes, or 4 to kill mediums, and 6/7 (I think?) to kill heavies. How the hell is ANY of that balanced?
So, I've recently installed Tribes and I am wondering. Should I go fast or slow?
could really use some dedicated servers about now.

Jackal is like TF2 Beta Demoman, back when he didn't have a delay before detonating.
It does mean you can use it to boost in air though, which is awesome. In Temple I have a 310+ INF route now. With ego you can do 3 shots without needing to regen which from a stand still will get you from 0 to 160. Or from 70 to 230 when in a game case.
In Katabatic the side-to-side route is great, 280+ with full health at the flag stand.
I just got another 75,000 exp. What the fuck do I spend it on?! I swear, this is the hardest part of this game. I love Brute and I wanted the Colt or the other pack for it but now with the over population of Infiltrators Brute isn't really cutting it. All I can survive as now is Soldier or else I get exploded by an invisible mob.
Fuck generator defense, it is far from worth it now.
I like the jackal & throwing knives..

Haven't played at all today, but this game does not sound fun right now :v:
This is completely wishful thinking, and will never, ever happen, but it'd be nice for them to say to the earlier players "Thanks for being here since the early days, here's a pot o' gold for ye" when it releases.
There's nothing pay2win about expensive weapons as long as they're side-grades. Even if they take 500 hours to unlock they are still just a personal choice thing.
The issue is how so many vanilla weapons are blatantly worse than the paid ones, eg. the jackal and stealth sf shit on the rhino smg.
The rhino is awesome, learn to aim.

Looks good, and the 'likelihood' column seems very logical.
The rhino is awesome, learn to aim.
there's nothing wrong with the rhino, when did i say there was? but the stealth sf deals massive damage, instantly, from stealth... big difference.
[editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
learn to aim.
should i take this personally? i wreck shit with the tech SMG so i know how to aim pretty well
Revealing infils with the jammer pack really needs to give assists

Well if you wreck shit with the tech smg why aren't you with the rhino? it only does like 5 damage less.
[editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
The stealth spinfusor also catches peoples attention more from what I've seen, with the rhino they sometimes don't even notice you.
Well if you wreck shit with the tech smg why aren't you with the rhino? it only does like 5 damage less.
that's my entire point! the rhino is good but the others are better - didn't you read what i said?
The stealth spinfusor also catches peoples attention more from what I've seen, with the rhino they sometimes don't even notice you.
but that is directly offset by how the cloak pulse is shorter with it, which cancels that out imo

This was an amazing round. When the time ran out, both the teams had eachothers flags, and the scores were 4/5 for both.
Both teams went half defence and half offence, the flags were given to heavy classes and were hid in the underground where half the team were protecting.
The enemy team somehow even had a tank down there :v:
In the end, we managed to kill off everyone and capture their flag, ending the match.
I got tons of kills
Some dude on the other team decided it'd be a good time to repair his bike.
My G key said otherwise

Beagle stole my bike.
I do enjoy stalking Shrikes with my Mechanic perk. As soon as the person gets out to repair, jump in and immediately crash it into the ground. I am the greatest!
This whole "My entire team is Infiltrator ohgodwhatwhy" is pretty great too now that the new weapons pretty much throw any reason to be stealthy right out the window. Just rack up a pile of invisible corpses and buy a Shrike. I dominated every attempted flag cap on Drydock because nobody was playing any other class. Many exps were earned that game.
