SMG is not terrible, I think it's actually a better weapon for flag defence cause it's great for shooting down flag carriers. Thumper is better for generator defence where you have to defend yourself from those pesky Juggerfats and jackal Infs.

It may be because I'm lower level than you and play with less skilled people, but for me guys on hoverbikes never seem to be able to avoid the missile and die like 90% of time.

ok, here's the issue.
lets assume that the soldier class (sf+eagle) is balanced. I think that's fair enough since it's one of the oldest classes, and it's convenient since it's medium. Now:
- spinfusor = thumper
- energy pack < 2 turrets
so this is the issue. in my mind the tech should not get an equivalent weapon, since he has a much better pack.
let me put it this way. if you were playing soldier, would you trade your energy pack in for two deployable turrets? you'd me mad not to, because turrets are so much better, and this is what thumpernician essentially is.

The thing is though, it's pretty easy to destroy the turrets, and they're not going to be doing anything while the generator is down. Additionally, they can't really be used offensively, and you have to go to an inventory station or die to put down a second turret. Also, techs don't have a secondary weapon if they go with the upgraded repair tool.

CaH is king of the hill with 3-4 hills. Each "hill" has a holographic button that when touched will cap the zone if no one on the opposing team touches in within a 5~ second period.

but rewarding people for making quality videos incites creativity, spreading the word about tribes, and a more active community for the game.

Valid points, but to clear up firstly the 'no secondary weapon' thing: that it is absolutely a choice. The sparrow is just as good as the eagle pistol, and the shotgun is situational but still very good.
Even without those though, the repair tool is great, and it's worth the sacrifice of a secondary weapon, meaning the tech is at no disadvantage.
To return to your original point, it is true that the turrets are weak, but they are still damn good when used right. Yeah, only one can be placed at a time and they can in theory be destroyed faster than they can be made, but this is good. Turrets shouldn't be able to stand on their own, they are meant to be supplemented by players. An incoming pathfinder simply cannot destroy both turrets in addition to mines/claymores/HoF if the placement is correct, which means the turrets do their job.
As to the gen going down, that's a seperate issue. Any loadout is going to be underpowered with the gen down, OR overpowered with the gen up, I'd simply prefer the former.
sentinels are no fun allowed for pathfinders
juggs are no fun allowed for HoFs
