Two things: 1)Infiltrator is more like the original spy from team fortress classic. 2) Brute is not noob friendly at all. You spinfusor shots snails , your energy is low and you are slow unlike the soldier who really is a all arround class and the best one to star at this game.
I find brute really quite easy, spinfusor is easy to use, and your HP makes combat pretty forgiving.

With the energy pack fully upgraded you have 120 energy. Brute + Potential Energy is fatfinder.
I went as a Doombringer. Horrible class on TDM. Minigun is awful The rocket launcher thing is weird. I'd rather stay with Infishazbot class.
be an annoying as fuck ravegrenade brute who does nothing but skii over to the flagstand and throws a 3+ grenade rave
Thats me! When ever im about to die I throw the fractals in every direction too!
I also got 500 free gold at PAX East.
Somebody gimme a PAX gold code k thx.
i want free gold too. want play juggerfat
Seriously though I'm a poor miserable bastard. :v:
You're playing a flag defence class in TDM. Sounds about right.
Doombringer is amazing in Arena.
I wonder why nobody likes the automatic. With two shots and medium close range you can kill a light class and it takes a full clip to kill a heavy. Still is not truly automatic, I get used to the AA12 from Killing floor.
Because the auto shotgun has bad range and does terrible damage compared to every other shotgun. The Nova Colt is better for Brute than the shotgun for finishing people.
PAX gold...? I'm that one guy who fixes sensors and turrets, I promise if I got some it wouldn't go to waste...
I wonder why nobody likes the automatic. Still is not truly automatic, I get used to the AA12 from Killing floor.
Yeah, I don't see many people using it either, I'd die to Brutes more often if they just used their secondary instead of trying to hit me with spinfusor when I'm at 100 health.
Because the auto shotgun has bad range and does terrible damage compared to every other shotgun. Colt is expensive.
Gibe gold
Are we still doing the 250 gold PAX codes? I want one :v:
They're coming. Tonight probably.
If anyone has a code for gold and is feeling generous.. :v: Thanks in advance
itt: begging for pax gold

I think I'll upgrade some Pathfinder stuff, I really like playing with this class.
For just 250 gold you can help a poor sandraker go fast.
lmao pax gold
For just 250 gold you can help a poor sandraker go fast.
250000 gold wouldn't be enough for a sandraker to go fast
I would consider them OP if they were all hit-scan but due to the average player speed, the curvature of terrain, and how bullets have inheritance, good luck hitting someone who's moving consistently while not standing still. It's really fucking difficult, and I've been playing FPS Games since I was 5 or 6 years old.
It's actually easier to hit someone consistently especially if they're moving. The hardest time to hit someone with any of the bullet based projectiles is when they're running on the ground and just strafing around, however because this is a Tribes game that's basically suicide due to pretty much every other weapon in the game. If someone is flying or skiing, they're moving in a closer to linear path, which makes it extremely easy to lead shots, and this is especially true to someone who is moving parallel with your view. The hardest time to hit someone that is flying with bullet weapons is when they're moving perpendicular to your view, but even then, it's still not that hard. Also, making weapons do ridiculous damage just because people are bad with them is not a legitimate way to balance a weapon. As more and more people use them consistently, more and more people will get better with them. What happens when a ton of people are decent at using the weapon? Will it be OP then? Why was it not OP in the first place then? They have nerfed the Sentinel rifle many times but people still suck with those, and the main reason they nerfed them is because the few people that were good with them were consistently sniping flag carriers moving at 250+ km/h across the map. (The nerf to Sentinel rifles also made it less threatening for heavies that were base-raping from hills but that's a different story)
I know, I've been playing Raider a lot and I feel so dirty every time I whip out the SMG. Constant stream of bullets that do 80 damage each on top of the grenade launcher is a bit too much. I try and stick to clearing flag stands and toasting radars/turrets anyway but still. That SMG is fucking ridiculous.
That's basically how I feel when I play Soldier or Doombringer. Just constantly melt people with basically no effort.
But then they would have to buff Heavy energy to compensate for the fact that they can't fly for shit, and at that point they would be essentially slightly-buffed medium classes with huge weapons.
Not really, they don't. They're heavy classes, not tanks. They would still be reasonable strong even if they lost 500 health. They currently have about 2400 HP. That's basically double the stock soldier class, while the soldier class only has about 400 health more than a light class. Why is there such an extreme difference in health values between classes? To make matters worse, they also gave heavier classes STRONGER variations of the spinfusor, basically making them each a "one man army". In the classic tribes games, everyone basically had the same weapons. There were some restrictions such as only the heavy armor can have the mortar, or only the light armor can have the laser rifle. However weapons that were consistent between classes were all the same. The difference between classes was their survivability, maneuverability, and max number of weapons, rather than their survivability, maneuverability, and their damage output. Tribes Ascend buffed heavies into ridiculous new heights just because they had the title "Heavy". I'm not saying that Tribes Ascend has to be exactly like Tribes or Tribes 2, but you don't need to buff heavies as much as they did. They either need to reduce heavy classes damage output, or nerf their health, but as they are now, they are far too strong.
wall of text
When people whine about SMG techs more than Thumper techs we'll listen.
I've got an extra 250 gold card from PAX East if anyone wants one, just message me. [editline]penisdickshit[/editline]Sorry, gave it away.
I think Brute will be my new favourite class, he's fun on both attack and defence and is pretty relaxing to play. I was defending gen room all by myself one round and some spammy juggerfat and jackal inf who thought they were cool got upset at me for killing them over and over again. It's funny how people who whine the most are those who use cheap tactics themselves, I didn't even use fractals that much because I only can carry 2 with me atm.
That one time I leave the thread and the one gold code gets given away.
boy howdy i wonder what i should spend this 250 gold on ;) (thanks kaine you're great)
Heh, I just found out that the ramp thing on temple ruins is really good for bombarding the enemy flagstand as a jugg, provided you can get up there. It's also great for e-grabs. I actually got a cap doing that.
