• Tribes: Ascend v2: I went slow once and it was awful

Is it normal that so far, I can only achieve truly GOTTA GO FAST speeds as a heavy class?
Wouldn't make sense for a perk to hinder you unless it was a trait kind of thing.
Superheavy's use is intended for HoFs (Heavies on Flag) to reduce the amount of movement from incoming cappers trying to disc them out of the way.
http://forum.hirezstudios.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=313&t=60180 Basically, jetpacks are weak and weird due to the need to band-aid the lack of friction and/or air resistance. Cappers have an easy time due to how easy speed is to keep up, but chasers have a harder time because of how hard it is to get going due to the lack of force from explosive jumping/jetpacking. Also, cappers have an advantage in a chase due to inheritance being less than 100%, this is why CGs are so popular for chasing, their projectile is fast and has a high RoF, allowing the user to adjust for un-intuitive physics. And mortars are just all sorts of fucked up.
someone showed that u need get over 500 speed to outrun a disc, tribes never had 100% inheritance, chasers can plan their path to catch the capper. i remember they fixed jumping lowering ur speed. mortars are indeed fucked up, but juggerfat are too powerful already

Super heavy is great, was at the top of the leader-boards every game I played recently, just from defending :D

Juggs are only powerful if you're trying to cap alone, and even then it isn't impossible to beat them on the stand.
Feels good to kamikaze your shrike into other one which has just started, did that twice in a round to the same guy. No fun allowed. Also I hate when guys with worst scores insult people after match ends.
Anyone else having a bug where the game takes a very long time to launch, and once it does it is near impossible to join a server because of the wait time? I'd actually been having quite a bit of fun with the game, but now it doesn't seem I'm able to join any servers... :(
Tribes never had 100% inheritance, so it never should! "Tradition" is a terrible argument. Juggs are only powerful if you're trying to cap alone, and even then it isn't impossible to beat them on the stand.
give 1 reason to have 100% inheritance?
give 1 reason to have 100% inheritance?
It's easier to aim. That's how things work in real life, so it's more intuitive. There should be either 0 or 100% inheritance, not 50% depending on the weapon like there is now.
Uh, what is inheritance? (just downloaded yesterday)
There's also wind resistance and gravity in real life, They are not taken into account with majority of weapons. The inheritance works fine (to me) once one gets used to it.
If you travel at 300 sanics and fire a gun its the projectile's velocity add 300 sanics. or 150 sanics if it's 50% inheritance.
Anyone else getting a scoreboard bug where your deaths at the end of the round are stupidly high? I died in this round about 5 times, and it came up with this at the end: Not game breaking, but strange.

is it just me or does the diamond sword announcer sound uncanny like Samara from me2/3?
50% is fine as long as it's consistent. I can say for a fact no one will find 100% more intuitive than 50%, except in very specific circumstances when you're travelling perfectly side-by-side with people. So talking about it being intuitive is retarded because 0 would be a hell of a lot easier ie. your shot goes where you aim. [editline]15th April 2012[/editline] The only thing I don't like currently is the mortar which still uses that stupid fishpatch system.

Deaths in that count.
It's okay, sometimes I make excuses too
Nah, I just realised what it was, it was suicide spam from the warm up. Didn't realise they counted at the end. :downs: God damn why did I derp so hard. Hurr durr why are my deaths so high, oh may be because I suicided 60 times before the round even started. :suicide: [editline]15th April 2012[/editline]
Did you keep suiciding in the round start?
There's also wind resistance and gravity in real life, They are not taken into account with majority of weapons. The inheritance works fine (to me) once one gets used to it.
Wind resistance really should be in the game, and gravity doesn't need to affect all projectiles, and besides that, neither of them affect shooting directly. Inheritance affects that core bit of gameplay that is common across all shooters. Bad inheritance = bad shooting, and it's sad to see Hi-Rez pass up the chance to improve on the old games. Some games with 100% inheritance: ArmA, IL2 Sturmovik, Project Free Fall. Basically any sim that includes projectiles as a key part of gameplay will have 100% inheritance. 100% is the most intuitive, followed/tied by 0%, anything in-between is just nonsensical bullshit that introduces artificial difficulty (if you don't have the ground in your view for reference, shots become pure luck). The worst part is that T:A's crazy inheritance isn't even consistent within itself, that 50% number comes from Spinfusors, each weapon group has its own inheritance.
Someone on reddit posted this "Just a quick little webapp I created in the past few hours, basically, it redirects to a random referral link, you can add your own referral link to the pool it picks from, too. Well, just had my first stalemate. Both team's had each others flags on Raindance, both were hiding in the generator room...
Drinking game number 2: 1. Outskirts 3p, CaH 2. Take a shot every time a fractal enters point A 3. Pass out within 10 seconds.
I am going to destroy this one heavy which keeps sitting at the middle of the map taking out all the base turrets. I can ski over there eventually and kill them, but by the time I get back and start to fix even just on thing they are right back to the middle doing it again. I hate the spawn points. You spawn almost as close to the other teams base as your own.
didn't get the free spinfusor from that masssomething website earlier? well there's another site giving away keys. http://www.onrpg.com/MMO/event/Tribes-Ascend-Spinfusor-Giveaway [editline]13th April 2012[/editline] also utility pack + spinfusors http://www.fileplay.net/keys
Holy fuck! Thank you! I was just about to buy the spinfusor

Is horrible to star right next to the enemy in arena, TDM and C&H plus the time on ctf is set to allows the enemy to come back in a sec to keep destroyign your efforts to build up a defence.
I freaking hate playing as blood eagles They look awful I dont like their guy and they ALWAYS lose
