How do you even tell that someone's a "/v/irgin" ?
When they say "Anyone here a /v/irgin?", "Dat treib play", "GALO SENGEN ERRY DAY".
And it usually follows with a shitty sense of humor, as one would usually expect from /v/.
Any specific things you need to do to get a beta key (except for the facebook like thing)?
Or do they just send them to random people?
i got my beta key for just having a GA account
I got a key from Gum
He's a true bro <33
Anyone else thinks the improved repair gun should also be able to heal (including flag carriers)? The heal speed could be better on heavier classes than lighter ones for balance (so you don't fully heal a pathfinder in 2 seconds) and it would add an extra support role to the technician.

Light turrets are great to catch unsuspecting pathfinders going fast, since going into it's range pretty much means they're going to die.
I swear to god I could repair friendlies before the patch - maybe only the regular repair gun can do it idk.
Light turrets own. You can't seriously ask for a nerf when they only take one spinfusor to kill though.

They take two, and in that time of reloading your health has already been widdled down to like, 100.
At least the light spinfuser/bolt launcher takes two

You're not supposed to stand around getting shot by the turret while reloading :v
There is no way I'll be able to download 2 gigs any time soon with my internet connection, should I just give away my key?
Ill take it
And if I do eventually get my key i'll PM you it
Tardy to the party but I finally get to try this game this weekend
I mainly did it because I feel like I'm missing out with these Tribes gifs
Is there any way i can look at my stats and medals and such outside the end of game screen?
Just downloaded this last night, holy shit this is fun
also, as a soldier I found that using the grenade launcher (or whatever it's called) at close range on slower players then knifing them is a good way to get a kill.
Is 30 fps and less all I should expect from this PC on max settings?
i5 2500k 4.3 ghz
8gb 1600Mhz RAM
Sapphire HD 6850
ASUS p8 z68-V pro
The OP is even updated with the fix, why does no one look there.
I played this game today. I never ever played any Tribes game, and I reached 160 sanics. It's a bit laggy though, even on minimal

I'm pretty sure a direct hit does them in one and and splash damage two (but the first shot does most of their health). It's hilarious the number of people who think they can cap on their own though. You're meant to have a heavy behind you spamming mortars or something at the flag. It's also funny the number of people who fly through forcefields to get the flag and bitch that they died.
Getting an airkill with the disk bazooka really brings me back to the Quake days.
This game is a lot more fun than I expected.

Anyone?
I got a shittier setup than that and I'm running it in 60fps with no issues.
Anyone?
Nope, try medium settings, they don't differ much from the max settings.
My pc is worse (I think), but I still get 30+/-10fps on max settings.
Am i the only person playing on lowest graphic settings ?
I can run the game fine on High but it distracts me too much, the dull textures and lack of pretty effects makes it much easier to see people for me.
I used to do the same thing with Quake 3 arena

I get 40fps with nothing but 3gb DDR2, GTS 450 1gb, and a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4.
[editline]7th February 2012[/editline]
On max settings.
Just remembered I'd received a closed Beta key about 10 days ago. Installing now! :D
Are two clean flag caps both around 25s in time a good thing?
Also what do 35 SANICS mean? also something else to do with SANIC.

I have the same fucking shit except a 3.0 Ghz CPU and I can barely run the damn game on all-low with 30 FPS.
What resolution?
Played my second round a few minutes ago, I had the longest kill in that round, 3700 metres.
Is that good :v:
Just got my beta key and played two rounds.
Awesome.
Read the OP.
I came to this thread with the same problem and I found the answer within the first 15 seconds by READING THE OP INSTEAD OF ASKING.
Guys, after a few days I think I'm playing this game wrong. Could anyone tell me why all my matches usually turn out like this?
Earlygame I go Pathfinder because I enjoy the speed and try to get better at fluid moving & shooting with the spinfuser as well as flag capping if I get the chance.
Shortly afterwards I notice the reason why our turrets are down (and our flags keeps getting captured as a result) is because there's a terrible Juggernaut/Infiltrator infestation in our base. Midgame consists of trying to win back our base and setting up defenses, which is usually achieved when >50% of our team goes Tech/Sentinel to fill the place with turrets and explosives.
In Lategame both sides have bunkered their places completely so that normal Pathfinder caps don't work. Instead we get a pissing match between the ~3 top players of both teams that throw vehicles and orbital strikes at each other. The rest of the team is pretty much useless and tries to keep the defenses up.
This isn't fun to play and my team loses in >80% of all cases. Obviously it should average out at ~50% when the teams are constantly mixed, but since it doesn't, it appears I'm doing something wrong. I'm constantly trying to fix stuff around our base and can't really get past the enemy's defenses from Midgame onwards.
Should I just ditch my team and base and keep charging their flag until it works or what?
Anyone?
I rock a 3ghz ADM phenom and a 4850 and even I can run it on max settings, oddly no higher or lower than 30fps.

Sounds like nobody's communicating. Even the VGS menu can be a game-winner. Tribes is about a careful balance between offense, midfield and defense. Not enough defence and your team will just get spawnraped, not enough offense and your team isn't going to win. Midfield is for weakening attackers and chasing cappers.
Turtling seems to work too, though :v:
In general, try to find a role that's not already filled and stick to it for the match. I usually play defensively because I can't cap for shit and I haven't unlocked the brute.

Just keep charging for the flag. As a Pathfinder, that's your job. Don't let defense class duties distract you.
