Except that it still has a wind up time.
Does it? I thought it didn't, my bad then. [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
Buy the Thumper, learn to aim (seriously, you shouldn't be relying on turrets to kill, just either knock down a bit of health during teamfights or finish off low opponents), unlock the motion sensor and place that near most entry points to the base, when someone sets it off, blow them up with the thumper. Raiders are the most annoying to kill, jugs are slow as shit so they're usually easy to hit if you avoid the MIRV spam and make sure to hit them before they regen health (chip away at them), Infiltrators are easy to kill once you've got that first hit to disable their cloak. If you find yourself with two or three, start spamming VDG three or four times so that people know that either it's gonna go down or heavies should get their asses in there.
I rely on the turret, smg and grenades all the time with my technician, I'm not sure what the problem is.
No one understands how Katabatic works. You grab the flag, then keep flying through the passage behind the mountains. Everyone on my team kept trying to go back through the middle and dying. I had 4 of the 5 flag captures.
I prefer doing a full loop around and completely avoiding the middle.
But yeah, I'm already reaching max speeds easily, I got 23 kills in my first game. I'm not terrible at this i'm alright imo
Max speed? there is no max speed. you have to go faster
175 is when the thing went red. that is what i count as max speed. everything afterwards is on account of external force.
175 isnt fast 200 sanics is fast 250 sanics is very good and you are now most of the time fastest of the team
According to your diagram you are a filthy sandraker!
Took me a second to realize but it's true. He is not worthy.
250 sanics is slow as sandraker scum, bro.
You Butchers sure are fast alright, but I hear there's some herbal remedies that can help with those stamina problems. :smugdog:
Gee those sure are some long swords, you sure you don't wanna confess something, sandraker?
Hey i was just on the same server as swebonny.
Gee those sure are some long swords, you sure you don't wanna confess something, sandraker?
Cute armour, turns out red isn't faster after all
Sandrakers/Butchers jokes aside, I win 80% of the time as a Blood Eagle than Diamond Sword, Blood Eagle is also always the first team that gets full all the time.
well its the first one on the screen and story-wise the sandrakers are just a tiny bunch of traitors
Sandrakers have terrible swords that make them go slow.
I might read up on Tribes lore, it always strikes me as odd that no matter the map, the Butcher announcer goes "Get those sandrakers off our world" Also was the design for the suits and bases inspired by asian mechs and WH40K? It looks like a mixture of both.
I might read up on Tribes lore, it always strikes me as odd that no matter the map, the Butcher announcer goes "Get those sandrakers off our world"
yeah basically the butchers go around the galaxy and claim every fucking planet until some of the butchers say "we're no part of this" and form their own tiny tribes. The swords are one of those "sub-tribes" that have become full tribe.
Can anyone beat my record for fastest flag capture?

What servers are you guys playing on? I'm in europe but playing on north america's currently.
I've been having a hard time actually enjoying the game. Every server I get thrown in to seems to be heavily stacked against my own team, and the majority of both teams seem to be Techs who sit around throwing turrets down and heavies sitting in the gen room with them. How much do turrets even cost to deploy? Whenever I take one out, the tech just throws up another one practically immediately. I'm not even going to mention the thumper and how hilarious it is for techs to have.

It's easy as piss if you jump and fire predictively.
I'm not even going to mention the thumper and how hilarious it is for techs to have.
Techs use it for the same reason as above ^

It was probably made that way because of how laughably easy turrets are to kill once you spot them, just shoot 1-2 discs at them from far away and boom, no more turrets. I can't say anything about the thumper since I'm still using the SMG.
You should always go back and put one in your inventory after you've placed one though.
yeah basically the butchers go around the galaxy and claim every fucking planet until some of the butchers say "we're no part of this" and form their own tiny tribes. The swords are one of those "sub-tribes" that have become full tribe.
Nope, although both the Butchers and the Sworders are linked. Butcher origins:
Nicknamed "butchers" or “buzzards,” the Blood Eagle claim descent from an Order of Imperial Knights sent to pacify the tribes long ago.

Some among the tribes say the Blood Eagle maintain close contact with the Imperial High Command, but the Blood Eagle vehemently deny these rumors. Nevertheless, Blood Eagle are a common sight on the world of the Imperial Legate, and they seem to have little difficulty in acquiring new equipment. Some stories whisper that one Blood Eagle faction has ambitions of returning to Terra and taking the Imperial Throne, but most tribesmen scoff at such outlandish tales.
Sworder origins:
An interesting tale links the origins of the Diamond Sword to the Empire. Long ago, the story goes, the Emperor of Earth used as bodyguards a force of Imperial Knights so hard and elite that people called them The Diamond Sword. These Knights served with honor and distinction until one day a mysterious figure addressed the Imperial Court. This man, the Enlightened Master, foretold a day when the Empire would have need of a weapon in a faraway place, a weapon of surpassing hardness and strength. His words moved the Court, and the members of the Diamond Sword petitioned the Emperor to allow them to be that weapon. The Emperor agreed, and the Diamond Sword followed the Enlightened Master into the wilderzone. When warriors who hear this tale claim the Diamond Sword are lackeys of the Empress, Sworders typically answer, "Can the hand made of smoke draw a sword?"
Attitudes of both to the Empire:
Many songs and jokes feature the Empress. Only the Blood Eagle and the Diamond Sword tribes refrain from any of the latter. The characteristically calm Diamond Sword have even fought duels against those whose jests portray the Empress in a vulgar or utterly demeaning light.

"The Empire's soft, all right, but this girl's got claws. Don't insult her name in front of me, hear?" - Leut Kantoskar Hendricks, Blood Eagle
Tl:dr: Blood Eagles are the descendants of Imperial Knights sent to conquer the tribes, Diamond Sword are the descendants of another lot of Imperial Knights who went to the Wilderzone due to a prophecy. Both seem to still hold some loyalty to the Empire.
wow are there no lore or theories that can make sandrakers cool :v:
Capture and hold (C&H) - Teams must seek out capturable bases or other assets, sometimes complete with turrets and stations, throughout the map. Points are given based on the amount of time an asset is "owned".
I want this. And what's this "Tribes: Universe" thing
wow are there no lore or theories that can make sandrakers cool :v:
Let me see...
Talking to a sword: Doing something pointless.
Nope. All we got is flashy armour and a commander who insists on flashing her tits.
Can't remember if I posted this idea here or not, does anybody else want team coloured projectiles? Not necessarily just red and blue coloured, but at least individual colours for each team, I find myself constantly prematurely jumping out of the way of an ally mortar
wow are there no lore or theories that can make sandrakers cool :v:
Shaolin Kung Fu philosopher-warriors not cool? Man, you wouldn't know cool if you got hit by a bus full of Smooth Jazz Radio DJs.
