They do, I've seen base turrets leading pathfinder going fuckfast and blowing them right the fuck up.

Base turrets will fuck you in the street if you're not paying attention to them.
They're so smart, there can be three people running ten feet from them at 1000 sanics and they'll still target me, the guy two miles away, who is trying to destroy them.

Too many people over look base turrets. While they don't often get a kill, they are great at hitting very fast targets, or causing enemies to take evasive measures. A number of times I have gone around upgrading and repairing our turrets, after they have been ignored by our loosing team, and have them turn around the game for us.
I've always considered the lock-range for turrets silly. When you're going too fast, they're practically instant death on some maps. Capping on Bella Omega gets really stupid due to the placement of the turrets and the flags, and unless you have reach there's barely any room to maneuver out of the way and still grab the flag.

Is the Tribes: Ascend VIP Starter Pack worth it? Particularly, VIP status?
I haven't had a ton of time to play Tribes lately, but it seems like a superb game and fills the void I've been missing since UT2k4 and similar fast paced games.

well you get VIP which doubles XP , a 30 day boost and 30 $ worth of ingame gold. I bought it and its good.

Generators are fucking important, I bet you're one of the people that never bother defending it. if it goes down it means no radar, no turrets, no player turrets, no shield walls, and more ways for the enemy to grab your flag.

It is [I]really[/I] hard to fly in an ninja a flag with the radar highlighting me and those fucking annoying base guns firing at me. Not to mention all their mini-turrets, shield walls, and even when those things can be bypassed... gliding in for a grab... and.... FUCKHEAVYNOOOOOOO*bodyblocked*
sooo umm any body have an idea why i occasionally get an mvp stat thing for something along the lines of "330 m kill" ? like, two days ago i had a 11k m headshot mvp stat but i also got some 410 m kill mvp stat whats that about

I normally see the opposite. 3-4 guys in the generator room aren't worth it. I see a lot of people in the generator room because you get easy kills in there but when it gets to the point where there are more people defending the generator then the flag then its a problem.
Could someone repost that super ultra low config file in the official forums?

I take my pathfinder and go on generator duty when I can't get 500 meters from home and someone kill the gen. There is a very important balance that you gotta find between holding a seminar in the gen room and vacating it.
