I guess, but smg vs brutes = suck.
I mean it's okay if you can manage to tuck your turrets away nicely. (Since they're level 3 +25% vs armoured and I have x2 turrets)
But vs a ton of infiltrators in cqc it's easier to use a grenade launcher like the thumper dx of a soldier.
Really tech's just need a better primary weapon other than smg or thumper.
I really hate what they did with Arxnovena... it's way too open, and the generator-powered spawned forcefields are useless because you can just walk around them, or go over them now.
I get why the shrunk the towers into the ground and took away the grav-tunnel to the top -- (all the exploits and whatnot), but the bases are ugly and way too open now.
Technicians should get the slower-firing Thumper DX instead... they are much too powerful now.
...And who's bright idea was it to give the Infiltrator a freakin' Spinfusor?! ...A stealth one at that. :<

The Tech Thumper is pretty much the hammer of God indoors. It's effectively the best indoor weapon in the game.
Bella Omega just looks ugly in general, plus it's a game of "who-can-attack-the-teams-generator-the-most"

I really need to get better with my spinner thing. So far I'm only using the shotgun (which works just fine, mind you), but it limits my range significantly. :(
I still think infiltrator could be hilariously fun.

Everytime I'm not in the mood for Tribes I read this thread. By the time I'm on the last page I can't wait to read the last comment then fire up Tribes and go fast.
So does Super Heavy get noticeably better with upgrades? Because I bought it stock after saving up (instead of Pathfinder upgrades, which I am sincerely regretting) and it does nothing as far as I can tell. They can still easy knock me aside and grab the flag.

the "take damage when someone hits you at high speed" thing makes it worth it
I bought infiltrator for some silly reason, it's not like I'm ever going to play it.

That's nice, but I want it more for keeping the movement reduce. As far as I can tell at 40% it's doing absolutely nothing.

Does safe fall's collision damage reduction affect getting clotheslined?
So I was chasing a flag carrier on Arx Novena
I'm coming up behind him, and I pull out my Spinfusor. I fire it behind him.
The carrier goes catapulting forward at 200+ SANICS from the Spinfusor - straight into a pillar on one of the canals.
He dies instantly from splat damage. :dance:
As someone who's only been playing for about 5 hours now, my opinion is that anyone who uses the Thumper needs to be castrated and burned

Can't you get VIP by buying anything? I'm planning on buying a $10 gold pack, mostly for the VIP but also for the boosters. Not going to directly buy any upgrades with the gold as I'd at least like the ILLUSION that I'm earning stuff; just straight up buying it kinda takes the fun out of it.

Yeah, if you spend money during beta you get permanent VIP status. I just went with the bundle because I wanted to give Hi Rez money.

Wow they really fucked up the Shrike.
I wish the vehicle controls were better in general... I wanna be able to strafe with the Shrike and Grav Cycle, dammit!

I also wonder when we're gonna get the troop transports and larger, open maps.
I'm still really really annoyed at the lack of Spinfusor as a initial primary for Soldier.
Even with the reduced prices, 42k xp is a hell of a lot without boosters.
Terrible at aiming with the spinfusor, but going fast is fun as shit. This game is the tits.

I've started to play Soldier now that I'm getting better with leading my shots. I'm still bad at long distances, but I'm much better at it now than I am with the Shotgun, plus there's a range advantage.
Being way sturdier helps too. I chased a Pathfinder all the way from our base on Arx Novena to their generator room (not sure why he went there), then in one grenade killed him, their generator, took our flag back, and took their flag back to my base to win the game. :dance:
I had a more than twenty minutes long match that ended in a stalemate. We were pretty damn even through and through.
But also they were really mad at eachother and kept typing it out throughout the match. The usual "u mad bcuz yada yada" and claims that the other one is 13 years old.
They still messed me up pretty bad when I was just trying to defend the generator. But I have a newfound love for grenades. I kept tossing them and they ended up coming through for me.
