Anyone know if it's possible to go above 120 fov in ascend? I used 140 in t2 :C
holy shit dude

gotta go WIDE
Ugh. Saving up for raider is going to be so fucking tedious as i just had a game where i got 4 flag caps, 5 flag grabs, a couple artillery kills, around 20 kills, and stupid pathfinders kept zooming into my force field which probably accounted for half of those.
But, on that match i got 200 xp even though it was a very close game, 4-4 for about 10 minutes before i almost brought it back to base and then another guy capped it.
At least the first win of the day bonus is 1200 xp.
You get more XP the longer the games are, fyi. I usually get about 1k xp for a full round.

You know you like my fast and wide... fov.
went on a 10 kill spree with claymores :D
Ok this is getting fucking ridiculous.
I'm placing turrets around our flag, repairing deployables and base turrets and upgrading them with my credits, and I head back into the base to restock on turrets and I come back outside and EVERYTHING is destroyed. I look up and I see MIRV's raining down. 1 Juggernaut took out 1 base turret, 4 light turrets, 1 forcefield, 3 mines, and 1 person.
I just don't see the point anymore.
Isn't that the point? I thought Juggernauts were designed to assault bases by themselves.
My god, this is the first game I have rage quit in a while. I was holding the flag when it was blown out of my hands by a sandraker and picked up followed by me getting raped by fractal grenades.
Can someone post the Sandraker version of the "comb the desert" scene from spaceballs?
They are armed to the teeth with some of the best offensive weapons and grenades in the entire game. They can destroy anything at long range and can go toe-to-toe with any unit with confidence.
But the game has no class limits, so you can outfit your ENTIRE TEAM with that class. There is pretty much nothing that can stop them.
It's a kick in the crotch to the balance. Attacking and defending should be a team effort. It's infuriating how 1 man can shut down an entire base by himself. At this point in time I see no reason for any other attacking class to exist.
LOL

You do realise they pretty much stand still while doing this?

I just set my FOV to 120 and turned on reduced weapon sizes. Forgive my interruption, my vision is augmented.

High fov brofist.
How are you guys recording your videos? Are you just recording gigs of videos with fraps or is there some sort of in-game demo recorder?
DXTory
first double kill fuck yeah
Yeah? So?
If you approach them they'll skii away or shoot at you. Yeah, they can be killed, but in less than 40 seconds they'll be right back destroying your stuff again.
Infiltrators, Raiders, and Brutes are things you can defend against with turrets, mines, and forcefields and good techs. Juggernauts are not stopped by any of those things. Apart from having defenders abandon their posts to go and chase down single Juggernauts (only to have them come back again) there really isn't much I feel could be done to defend against them.
IMO heavies in general are to strong.
Blood Eagle are red
Diamond Sword are blue
I want to say
Shazbot
With you.

If they'd fix snipers then they would be a valid counter. IMO The sniper rifle should do 650 damage vs light, ~900 vs medium and 1.6k vs heavy (on full load).

GENIUS, I never thought of that, maybe not quite as much damage but basing headshot damage off of weight class would buff sentinels without making them OHK lights or anything.

tbh what would be more balanced is a shorter charge/no charge between shots so you could do quite a lot of damage if all your shots hit, and/or make the phase rifle take less energy when firing or not use ammo and only use energy

I think they should take most of the health from a person when fully charged, but not oneshot anyone. The thing is snipers are useless against heavys as it takes 6 shots fully charged to kill a heavy, in that time he will just have moved away from the retarded spot he's standing in and reg up his hp, mediums can be slain but usually only when they are already low, lights are the only people you can take out by yourself if you hit him first with a full shot and finish him if he doesn't properly take cover or juke your shots.

my best game so far, and it happened to be on the euro servers with 130 ping... finished the game 31-2-10, with unstoppable killing spree. almost had the slayer spree, but got orbital'd :(

The problem with the phase rifle is that it takes all of your energy and it takes even longer to reg up your energy than it takes to charge up your normal rifle, and it has no advantages whatsoever. I wonder though how much you get from the energy recharge pack that you can buy.

yes, but jugs can/are meant to be countered by other players on your team, eg raiders, or other jugs on your team
defending isnt a 1 man job you're not meant to do it on your own
also headshots shouldnt do more damage after a certain range, hs after some distance is just random luck
Does headshots work on bots? I wen't up to a bot in a game and shot him in the head point black 3-4 shots without getting any headshot.
Funion I know you're here.
What happened to the performance in this game?
A few days ago I could play for ages and not suffer a drop in frames, but now I can only go a game or two before I get 10 fps.
Very frustrating.
i'm considering getting a raider. i usually play soldier, a raider seems like a step up. what's the difference?
good idea or bad idea
why the fuck is doombringer more expensive than all the other second unlock classes

Raiders are very fun IMO. They are a bit weaker on the open battlefield though as their grenades are slow moving and takes time to detonate, but they reap in close quarters like tunnels n shit.
[editline]14th February 2012[/editline]
Also their shield pack is fucking awesome.

oh good
usually when i play soldier i miss most of my thumper shots out in the open, but i'm getting better with the rifle
and raiders have an smg so even if it's shitty it won't be too bad
my plan was to fuck around in/around their base though, so raider seems like a good choice
