I have super fast map loading times but it always takes an age to log in for me.
I've always had this problem on BF2 and PR.
I have super fast map loading times but it always takes an age to log in for me.
is there any chance you have Vista? when i upgraded from Vista 32 to Win 7 64, the log in issue seemed to stop. not sure if that's what the issue really was, but it was fixed so i was happy
You can see your health and ammo just fine. Are you bleeding? No? Okay you are healthy. It shows you how many more mags you have, also. Not sure about your loading issues, mine takes about 30 seconds - 1 minute to load. My buddy has a shit computer and it takes him about 2-3 minutes...Unless you have an old hard drive or shit PC, maybe you just need a defrag.
All my hardware is from 2009, but my HDD is from '06 [editline]20th February 2011[/editline] I'm just too lazy to get a new HDD because I don't want to go through all the trouble of moving all the content from my current HDD to a new one. [editline]20th February 2011[/editline] Its decided. I'm going out to the local electronics store (NEWEGG is too slow for me) and getting a 1TB HDD. I fill up my hard drive with crap faster then I can think. A single TB would last much longer then 150 GB. (And I assume content loading and writing would go much faster.)

About the slow logging in, I can almost guarantee it is because of the retarded way it adds servers to your favorites list / recent history and it has to ping them every time you log in (regardless if the server is up / down or shit or not.) Navigate to Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001 and open General.con, now delete all files that start with GeneralSettings.addServerHistory and GeneralSettings.addFavouriteServer unless of course you have a server on favorites you play on.
Oh god, yesterday was so much fun. Mumble on kokan and fallujah, on the CIA kokan server Fucking assaulted strongholds all day on kokan and then, as insurgents, the cache spawned on the top part of the map in a small underground bunker. The entire team was in there fucking their shit up as they tried to enter the compound. And after that the bottom bunker complex was used to defend the last cache against an overwhelming assault all the while the ground above was getting mortared to shit by both sides and US soldiers kept creeping through the spider hole in that bunker. I must have face'd about five US soldiers with anti-tank grenades, you really don't miss with them at point blank.
What's the difference between this and AIX? I'm tired of vanilla BF2 so I want to try some mods. Plus, are they both fairly active?
Could somebody here help me out with the BF2 I bought for PR? When I try to make an account for multiplayer it claims that Sunday_Roast and SundayRoast uniquenicks are allready taken. And when I try it with Darwinhuakbar it claims that an account name allready exists for that email/password. When I try to reclaim an account it allways says that the email is incorrect. [editline]20th February 2011[/editline] Got it working. I am now the_SundayRoast in BF2.
What's the difference between this and AIX? I'm tired of vanilla BF2 so I want to try some mods. Plus, are they both fairly active?
AIX and this are nothing alike. AIX is just like more content and crazy stuff for vBF2, exact same gameplay. PR is a completely different game in almost every way. And I dunno about AIX but PR usually has atleast 5-10 full servers.
What's the difference between this and AIX? I'm tired of vanilla BF2 so I want to try some mods. Plus, are they both fairly active?
AIX is more of a coop/bots mod. And more crazy stuff. More fun I think. But you can't really compare these 2 mods.
AIX is more of a coop/bots mod. And more crazy stuff. More fun I think. But you can't really compare these 2 mods.
Well I didn't figure they were similar, I just wanted a basic idea of what AIX was because I haven't heard of it.
I should probably download this again. Haven't played since November.
Well I didn't figure they were similar, I just wanted a basic idea of what AIX was because I haven't heard of it.
Oh, shitload of vehicles. If you like them. They added blackbirds, bombers, KA50, and shitload of cool stuff.
Oh, shitload of vehicles. If you like them. They added blackbirds, bombers, KA50, and shitload of cool stuff.
I'm going to have to learn how to fly one then because the one time I tried, I crashed into the ocean a couple seconds later
Kokan and Hookers is my favorite server. There's a lot of nice people on there.
Couldn't agree more, they are laid back enough to allow PR to be fun while still banning for outright dumbness (Although I did once get kicked for "wasting assets" because I was the co pilot in a kiowa and the pilot ragequit and left me in mid air and I tried to land it). An example of this, a couple of days ago a bunch of CIA members were flying the blackhawk with someone using a stinger on board to take out caches through windows. I'll admit its a bit of a shitty unrealistic tactic but it was fun to be involved with (Even if I was just sitting in the back as a medic healing people and spotting targets).
I play on K&H when I play without friends
i believe they will ban anyone with an AA kit now
Wouldn't surprise me, it was WAY too effective. LOL The guys on the miniguns dealt with any possible threat while the AA person took out the cache (or bomb car, or what ever happened to be being bad) while the pilot hovered in the right place just long enough.
I used to love PR but like you guys are talking about you need to find a server that is serious, but not crazy. I remember running from rooftop to rooftop with an Mg and picking off whole squads below me. After about 30 minutes of just raping face I got a ban for not sticking with my squad, who had been going along the same path as me but on the ground.
To keep the thread alive I'm posting a video of some idiot pilot that was in my squad today. I think the red smoke I popped in anger at the second pilot you see in the video subconsciously triggered a kamikaze.
Bumping this thread because 1. This mod is awesome and 2.
I love this game. But some of the admins, specifically on the "H" server, really get on my nerves. I just can't stand when some of them are on and don't even feel like playing when they are. Also, they have recently started being prone to teamstacking. They argue that everyone should get together on Mumble. As that will somehow make us 100x better.
Being able to co-ordinate a defense or strike with another squad using voice chat is extremely useful, especially when there isn't time to type.
I realize this. but 32 random people just jumping in Mumble and trying to coordinate works a lot less than a whole clan who have had time to play together than they are implying.
I want to try this again, how do I install from BF2 steam version though.
I want to try this again, how do I install from BF2 steam version though.
You dont. You need the non-steam version from either EA Download manager or the store. [editline]1st March 2011[/editline]
Being able to co-ordinate a defense or strike with another squad using voice chat is extremely useful, especially when there isn't time to type.
It really depends, that is what the commander is for. BF2's built in system works just fine when people know how to use it... the squad chats to the squad leader, squad leader informs commander via the "V" voice chat key then the commander marks or does the required action to finish the sequence or pass on a message.

I just use the VOIP, even when I'm in an H group.
Mumble really does bring everyone together because you can actually communicate with others outside the squad for one. It's even funnier when all talk is on when you hear some taliban whisper your name before you get stabbed in the ass with a bayonet, or doing a suicide charge with a grenade while screaming :v:
H server is the only server I play on and never needed to get into mumble or vent. I just use the VOIP, even when I'm in an H group.
The H server has annoying admins.
I want to try this again, how do I install from BF2 steam version though.
Works auto for me. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] Would love to play if i did not get 200+ ping on all used servers. Same with BF2. No other game does this to me. :frown:
