I was thinking that we could have 2 servers, one co-op and one deployment, so that people who want to play co-op can play co-op, and people who want to play deployment can play deployment

What are the resources needed to host a good server with no lag?
A good computer running linux and a good internet connection with a high upload rate.

For PR you need ALOT of ram for the maps, more then 7Mbit upload and if its going to have players consistently you will need alot of bandwidth per month(TB) as BF2 is a bandwidth whore. The CPU has to be very good aswell to handle PR. Oh and it only runs smooth and decent on Linux.

MeRkpr, NwA, [RIP] and UKWF- oh wait, they're a minecraft clan. There's also a few others that escape my mind at the moment. All UK-based clans with servers. Apart from UKWF. They suck dick.
Some of them are alright though.
So what servers are people on at the moment?
Also, on the subject of an FP server, I reckon it'd be pretty pointless, especially if based in the UK. You'd already be competing with two servers (MeRkpr and NwA) that start filling up at 8am and are usually full by 12-2pm. Then there's the fact that for each of these servers, a large percentage of their clients are regulars. Furthermore, the users in this thread are divided across timezones, which would mean there's less of you to seed at any given time than if you were all within 2-3 hours of eachother.
Also, PR servers are VERY prone to crashing. If you're going to go ahead with it, at least make sure you know what you're doing. Pro tip: Don't use Alpha Networks.

I play regularly on the MeRk UK Reality Teamwork server. I've seen Elitehakor on there among others wearing the [FP] tag join in too. And being part of the hosting clan, it'd have to be my unwritten duty to tell you to play regularly on it.

Also, if you all start coming on the server wearing the [FP] tag, Bluff might give you teamswitch rights so you can all play on the same team. Failing that, just ask an admin to switch you.
For fucks sake, PR has broken. All I did was move the desktop shortcut to another folder and suddenly PR doesn't launch past the splash screen.
What the balls, did they not test that or something.
I play on tacticalgamer mostly and sometimes MeRk. I might start going on MeRk more if that's where FPers is going.
