This mod might be the only reason I have BF2 installed nowadays, shit is fun as fuck when playing as a sniper support squad.
I used to play all the time on Aussie servers, but problem is, it lags like a prick on some maps, couldn't handle it.
Alright, I'm on Vista. I'm a standard user and I just finished downloading parts 1, 2, and 3 of the installer. I double click part 1, press run, and nothing comes up. However, the process shows up in the task manager. Do I need to be an administrator to install this?

To people with lower then average computers, 2Gb wont cut it.

Mod is freakin awesome, in both seriousness, and playfulness. http://www.xfire.com/video/3de804/ [editline]29th December 2010[/editline] And this. http://www.xfire.com/video/3de7e5/
I only payed BF2 for 1 month after it came out and I never bothered with the MP, is it time to come back?
We were flying to our landing zone to take out a weapons cache. The ragheads were shooting about down there so we flew really high. We were chatting around like usual, doing the pre-deployment talk and all, when at one moment I saw the pilot type. Do you know what? "What?" I typed back "I'm the only one with the parachute." The chatter between my squad died down. I saw someone with a helmet appear outside the sidedoor, as the helicopter banked and started it's downward spiral.
All I remember from trying this was that people yelled at me for not knowing how to "play". Wow.
You played BF2 for a month and didn't play MP? Wow.
Yep.

You know what that reminds me of? I was playing a match of 6 vs 6 ( It went up and down, public server) on Yamalia. Me and this other guy kept paradropping me in with the pilot kit into the objectives. I swear to god, I was causing a fucking horror story. The canadian squad I was hiding and randomly popping out to shoot was terrified to the point where they started taunting... eventually they ran me over with a mercedes-benz... In 0.95 you can paradrop as pilots, you just have to keep switching spots around the helicopter ( 3-4-3-4-3-4...) so you dont die because the dev team implemented a stupid system which prevents pilots from being in passanger seats.
As I remember, Shogunner hosted a server and we played for hours with some other facepunchers Anyone up for a game after I wake up in 8 hours?
As I remember, Shogunner hosted a server and we played for hours with some other facepunchers Anyone up for a game after I wake up in 8 hours?
I wish, I'm stuck on a Pentium three for the next week, luuper are you by any chance Canadian. Im assuming because of your avatar.
I'll install it tomorrow.
I'll install it tomorrow.
Don't bother. Dident you say your computer was a derp and slow as fuck? You said it ran SC2 at 10FPS last time I saw you.
FP is how I found out about PR in the first place. I think it's the best thing to do with Battlefield so far, and they're branching out into ArmA 2 as well as developing PR2 on a licensed engine.

Playin pilot erryday. Bought a saitek aviator a while ago and it rocks in PR.
Came into thread hoping for a game that takes place in your mind, all alone, in an in-mind post apoc setting, the being in your mind part being something you find out at the end that would explain all the crazy shit you experience. shit that would be awesome

Did anyone say PR? Veteran player here, master gunner of any vehicle, master faildriver of any fast vehicle. I can kick your ass with a knife and I throw anti-tank grenades at your face all day. I can also pilot a scout helicopter pretty darn good and I can tag all of you flying pesks with any AA. It's good to be multi-useful :smugdog:
I have 2 GB's but I'm gonna give it a try anyway.
it won't lag but be prepared to make your dinner or some shit while the maps are loading because they take aaaages

Insurgency is fun, especially when your squad just so happens to come across one of the enemy's weapons cache. Me, Guniv, Erebus and Ice were driving along to drop off erebus to a good sniper spot when we found one right under the spot. We were all like :smugdog:
I remember back in the days when i played with some guys i got to know regularly through the time i played on a server. Well me and a full squad, with backup from another squad (we used mumble so we could communicate through all the squads and work as a single task force) were patrolling around the forest after we got reports of a town which the enemies were holding onto and they were guarding it with everything they had, as it was a strategic capture point. It didn't take long before we staged an assault. I was part of a grappling team, a wall circeled the town in the forest. In PR you can destroy walls and gates so the other members of the team were going through there by planting C4. My task was to make the other grappling members to follow me and grapple at my command, which was quite a chain since i had to wait for the go from the Explosives team. When the go came, everyone began shouting tactical shit through mumble, however that was not directed at us since the chatter was from the other squad :v: i told the others to throw their grapples when i say GO, which i shortly after did. We grappled the wall and climbed over, i managed to shoot two people while clearing a house, they were spotters i noticed. They had recon and marksmen kit, so they could easily tag our position. I told my squad leader about it, he told us that a counter-attack was going to happen :smith: So we had to call for choppers to bring back the guys that died during the assault/siege and reinforce us with crates and manpower We didn't have enough time too build MG positions though, but we did put out claymores and mines for the impending assault. Which eventually happened. We gave them fair resistance, but a couple of people died in a suprise attack because they brought APC's and they bombarded the town from a small hill (wasn't really far away, but it gave a vantage position) the squad leader told us to dig in, get inside houses and return the fire. I didn't get any kills but some guys outside the house (designated to take out the APC) managed to kill the apc before getting shot by enemy infantry. eventually we died one by one and we lost the village. But i will still remember that they had to pry the village out of our Cold. Dead. Hands. :v: And if you doubt any of this, don't. This happened 100% if you find a nice squad that you can communicate with, then events such as this happens all the time. this is my story, i have ALOT more stories similar to this one.
Project Reality has pretty sweet music: [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline] Also I remember this one funny time when me and my friends were tank-crewing in the giant forest map with russians pitted against american forces. We were driving the T80 tank and hunting down abrams and infantry in the woods. We noticed a guy sneaking in the treeline near a road, so we started shelling away. "god damnit I had an AP shell in the barrel" "Hey, is he holding binoculars?" "..." "Seems so" "Better move out bef-" and the sentence was cut short with a gigantic Explosions as a missile hit our tank "...before we get hit by laser guided ordinance?" "yeah"
SO whats so realistic about the game? The way how the orders are given? ... I didn't even like bf2. i always played as SF and tried to get small group of players behind the enemylines to take over areas or just camp their base.
