[QUOTE=xxncxx;31344681]Does anyone actually use Mumble?[/QUOTE]
I don't. I know I should, but I thought talking to the entire team over VOIP might get confusing, easier just talking to the squad.

But that is how it works.
Hey all, glad you are enjoying PR. :) doonbugie, feel free to [url=http://www.realitymod.com/forum/members/1491.html]PM me[/url].
Mumble's pretty handy, as it's basically area VOIP and you can talk to anyone in your team (or enemy) within a set distance. Once in the game world (server), you only hear those within your vicinity. It's also designed to give squad leaders the ability to talk to eachother as well as the commander. Most Mumble orientated servers ask for asset controllers (CAS, armour, transport) to be in the SL channel within the team too so that SLs can easily request transport. That's why the more well known servers are very successful at giving the impression of a fliud battlefield. Squad chat is also handy for talking to the squad outside of this radius.
I wish mumble would actually work for me. Regular mumble works just fine, but the PR mumble just crashes as soon as I start it.

Uninstall and reinstall? What OS are you running? Have you tried using Compatibility Mode? Tbh I've never heard of Mumble crashing for people. We're close to a new version of PR Mumble too. It's a hell of an advancement from the existing one in terms of ease of use.
For anyone having tech issues, feel free to ask the tech team [url=http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr-bf2-support]here[/url].
Mumble IP has changed as well. Remove the numerical IP and replace with "mumble.realitymod.com".
i use mumble on the servers where it's compulsary. i find it really annoying when chopper pilots etc aren't on it, makes it way harder to communicate.
Mumble is an awesome program and when the whole team is on it, it increases teamwork by a lot. If there's a gary approaching a FOB, and I type that out, maybe 1 / 2 people will notice that, now if I say it over mumble, either the squad leader channel or local, every around me / the squad leaders all know there is a gary coming, and I know they know.
Mumble takes the boring out of helicopter rides

Also looking through my fraps folder, I found some old screenshots from playing on the 128 player server

Since the eurocopter was full, the rest of our squad decided to ride on the copter
Wow, Doon you were right, Merk is terrible. I join and go pilot and make a squad for CAS then the admins delete my squad because some idiots made a squad after mine and locked it. Then after debating they let me in the squad, right when I begin to takeoff I lag then crash, then they start laughing at how I am a shit pilot and should stop playing. This is why I hate playing at UK servers, they are always dickbags.
They're also zionists.

I'd PM you but you permanently banned me for "Leaking PR server files" when I have done no such act. I think you're just mad that I'm hating on you.
Why are you even posting in this thread, most of the PR Staff including the founder are egomaniacs, if you're a dumbass like the rest Facepunch isnt the place for you.
TBH PR's hacky modified mumble kind of sucks, I'd much rather use Ventrilo or TS3 as its more convienient. PR Mumble doesent even work on Linux because they are lazy.... so I have to run it through wine.

Actually, I don't hate all UK players, just Merks, everyone on NWA was way more welcoming and when I asked for help they gave it to me. Whereas on Merks I'm told to stop playing forever.

What does merk even stand for... "Malicious eggheads reality klan"? It says nowhere on their site either.

It could effectively be used as an insult :L i.e. "You merk"

fucking stupid piece of shit merk.
Maybe its slang for Merc?
[editline]26th July 2011[/editline]
My experience with Merk reminds me of the time I ended up in a GMod server full of Australian Supremacists.

C'mon, can't let this thread die, and so I shall resuscitate it with a story from PR yesterday. We were playing on Gaza as the IDF, and we had some how made it to the back without dying, twice. We got to this one place with two buildings and an alley with a car at the end, and beyond the car was a few hills. The moment we got their, 5 insurgents come out and ambush us. A few of our squadmates go down, and I'm wounded, so the only thing I could do was rush up the hill, and kill them all. I got to the top of a hill, and killed a guy behind the tree who didn't see me, then killed the other two with my shotgun, then reloaded and killed the last guy coming up the hill. Sadly, my squadmates were skeptical and then we moved on.
We also found 2 caches by mistake and destroyed them both. We still lost though.
Well shit threads dead.
You're dead
Okay, okay, okay. Have some screenshots.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Rbw8q.jpg[/thumb] Cache defense...regardless if 1 hand grenade would take us out or not, it was awesome. (A friendly blew up the last cache before a full squad could assault us.)
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Q25y5.jpg[/thumb] Unloading on a Huey that tried to land beside us, then realized there was 20 of us and took off.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/wLdYm.jpg[/thumb] In the AAV, gunner had just killed that supply technical with his 50 cal.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/FN1Cp.png[/thumb] A technical drove up and stopped, they didn't see me so I shot the gunner then the driver.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/quKof.jpg[/thumb] RPGing a Stryker, he drove away with all 4 wheels on one side missing...
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/dDHlg.png[/thumb] A friend and I both had SVD's and were picking off the people before the blackhawk even landed.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/grgw3.png[/thumb] A brit trying to kill me like Rambo, he started unloading before he even came around the corner, he never hit me, at which point I killed him.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/zIBL1.jpg[/thumb] A tandem RPG flying in the air at us, fortunately it landed low and we killed that bastard.
Am I the only one who gets the stutter/rubberband lag? It's more intense when I sprint, brush against walls, aim down site, go prone, or jumping. It's really annoying because everyone around me stutters too, making it difficult to shoot enemies. It's also resulting in a lot of my deaths because I cannot properly get into cover without wasting valuable time fighting the stutter.
Anyone else have this issue? I can't be the only one.
Just played a round, Doonbugie was their complaining how the US don't get choppers that cant easily blow up caches and how unrealistic this game is and that they should un-balance the hell out of it just for the sake of being realistic.

Also got like 10 tk's from marked mines, good job team.

Damn =]H[= members ghosting. Especially the admins. We were the insurgents and they had destroyed 4 unknowns in less than 20 minutes.
