Project Reality has pretty sweet music:

Also I remember this one funny time when me and my friends were tank-crewing in the giant forest map with russians pitted against american forces. We were driving the T80 tank and hunting down abrams and infantry in the woods.
We noticed a guy sneaking in the treeline near a road, so we started shelling away.
"god damnit I had an AP shell in the barrel"
"Hey, is he holding binoculars?"
"..."
"Seems so"
"Better move out bef-" and the sentence was cut short with a gigantic Explosions as a missile hit our tank
"...before we get hit by laser guided ordinance?"
"yeah"
I can not stop listening to this song.
Also I wish I experienced some really epic moments in PR, but I only ever play Deployment with friends, and they love to dick around. I remember a couple of days ago my friend and I needed pickup from a tower, and it took forever because my other 2 friends were fighting over who got to drive the Humvee.
SO whats so realistic about the game? The way how the orders are given?
...
I didn't even like bf2. i always played as SF and tried to get small group of players behind the enemylines to take over areas or just camp their base.
Well it isn't detailed realistic.
But for example you can bleed out if you get shot, the accuracy isn't perfect. You have to wait for a few seconds (it eliminated the drop-shot shit) but they made it that way because that's the only way for them to simulate fatigue, tireness and shell shock.
it's shit at first, but you get used to it. The game isn't about killing, as it comes as a part of the game to reach your objectives.
vehicles are more realistic, you can actually ask for people to pick you up or evac your team and they actually COME 99% of the time. The bullet, shell is more realistic. As if i remember correctly shells are their own objects being launched out or something.

I can play with you, if you want. I'm pretty much a PR veteran.

Eh, maybe. I'm not really good at PR so when I do fuck up we always have a big laugh about it. Like this one time in co-operative on Operation Archer I was flying the Chinook, and I didn't see where I was landing so I hit uneven ground and landed it sideways.
For some reason I have pretty bad stuttering on a system that should be able to handle Pr very well, can someone tell me if theres a problem with my system?
GPU: 8800GT 512MB
CPU:AMD Athlon X2 5400+ 2.8GHz dual core
3GB DDR2 RAM
Win7 64bit
I think it's related to the graphics card. I've got an 8800GT and it stutters for me too.
All stutter issues are fixed by setting textures to medium.
even if you have a kickass computer, if you get the stutter issue it will fix itself when you put textures to medium.
I didn`t like how the gameplay aspect was completely and totally thrown out of the window, into a deep acidic 12 foot deep ditch. It was almost impossible to shoot anything with the L85A2 as it hit anything other than the target when i most needed to kill someone sprinting in front of me. The only time i can remember getting a kill was when i blew a warrior up on insurgency. The one thing i hated was how you spend so much time moving from cover to cover, checking round corners, etc, then getting your head blown off by some hiding cretin who managed to get a sniper kit/Having your whole sqaud blinded by a frag grenade and then being killed slowly as he goes prone and sticks his gun right into your arse so he can`t possibly miss due to the insane time it takes to ready an accurate shot.
It was a great simulator, but its not a wargame.
This looks pretty cool, gonna have to try it some time.

PR is far from a simulator, and that's something that they are doing on purpose...If you can't hit anything, you obviously haven't waited the 4-5 seconds as required, the accuracy is never perfect but laying down after waiting 5 seconds you shouldn't have a problem hitting someone in the chest at 200m.
You say you hate moving from cover to cover and being tactical, or if you were in war, that's called PRACTICAL, but then you say you get shot by someone who was hidden, well then I guess you aren't checking your bearings very well, huh?
And last but not least, your whole squad got killed by a hand grenade? Do you know what spacing is? And if you're not the squad leader, do yourself a favor and try to stay 5-10m away from your squadmates at ALL times.
PS: Check out the manual that you probably haven't read.
Between the absurd filesize, the shittyness of punkbuster, the laginess of BF2's online play, the poor optimization of many urban maps, this is a game thats really fucking hard to play. Not because of the gameplay difficulty, but because it takes so damn long to download, install, and just PLAY the game.
That said, when you have a fun time in PR, you have a REALLY fun time.

I beg to differ. It lacks the strategics and timescale to be a simulator.
Its just a realism FPS.
I'm going to download this again.
It's been a week of Elder Scrolls mods and Battlefield mods, I guess. v:v:v

I forgot how big this was. Damn, 4Gb.

Please note that Project Reality is way more weighted towards team-based gameplay than realism. In real life bullet's don't curve 45º out of a barrel just because you're moving.
Play with a good team or you will die a lot because of dumb teammates that throw grenades blindly and rush to the objectives instead of assisting you.
I hate the way helicopters handle in project reality - they don't accelerate that quickly IRL.

I'm supposed to wait 4-5 seconds before I shoot for better accuracy?
Maybe i shouldn't have skimmed the manual

I'd like to meet the soldier with a slow, steady heartrate and breathing while being shot at, wouldn't you?

While I like PR, it does execute good ideas in asinine ways. There never seemed to be much weapons sway. I prefer considerable recoil and weapons sway over poor COF. If your sights are lined up on the target, and your shots are spraying, its just annoying.
Don't bother. Dident you say your computer was a derp and slow as fuck? You said it ran SC2 at 10FPS last time I saw you.
It runs +40 FPS maxed out watcha talking about?
I like regular BF2 better but it's an Ok mod, not too much fun if there are no people flying transpo choppers for your team.
I get stopped at the splash screen of PR after patching... I hate it, I've had bf2 since beginning of October and I haven't played it yet.
re-install, make sure the installers aren't corrupt, update Punkbuster....if all else fails try a re-install of BF2 also. And if that ain't working too well shit post on the PR forums
I just got this installed. Anybody want to play?

yeah let me figure out how to get it to stop crashing first

You're not supposed to quickly go into sights are start spraying instantly.

it's around 2 or 3 seconds for rifles, LMG's etc.
For snipers it's 4 - 5. Markesmen rifles are around 3 .

I had focused the scope for more than 5 seconds.
My whole squad we were spaced out, its just the slightest damage from the blast blinded us for long enough so that he could kill us.
Teamwork is only on 2/5 servers as well. In one of those good ones this happened though:
(Admin):WHAT THE F**K YOU CUNT YOU TOOK THE FUCKING HELI AND CRASHED IT NOOB
Me:You don`t have to be a twat to some newbie you know
*BANNED:WATCH WHO YER TALKING TO*
:colbert:
On the other good server, the fun lasted for about 3/4 quarters of an hour before the team leader turned into an arsehole and kicked us all from the squad because we "were a crap team"
Holy fuck that was a hilarious game.
yeah and I was the pilot who crashed the damn chopper on that tower....
yeah and I was the pilot who crashed the damn chopper on that tower....
Yeah. I have not laughed as much as our squad did in a long time.
[editline]3rd January 2011[/editline]
I saw it coming as soon as the chopper started to tilt at a 45 degree angle.
[editline]3rd January 2011[/editline]
Then you dropped us off at the completely wrong coords and we ended up having to hike up through some mountains and we ended up getting lost.
I just got done playing my first game.
Camper Specialists on a rooftop gunned everyone down.
Time to go reinstall battlefield 2 and spent hours looking for the disk no doubt.
