The first one is MUCH better but the second one isn't that bad. Not great, but I played through it which I can't say about a lot of games.

I actually had Mercs 1 for the xbox a long long time ago... I thought it kind of fun:D But I only played about an hour or so of it, before my Xbox failed. I just heard Mercs 2 sucked, so I wouldn't recommend it

Is it a bit like just cause? because i've been looking at some videos and it seems to be a bit like it.

It's extra fun for the co-op and there's DLC on the consoles. It's very buggy, however, and the bastards didn't patch the pc version at all.

It's mediocre on the 360. Bad on PC. Get Red Faction: Guerilla instead.

I love it. Bad on pc, but the coop makes up for it however.

the first one was a shitton better. if you have to buy a Mercs game, get the first one.

It's decent fun on the consoles, but the PC version has a lot of bugs. It's the kind of game where you can just [i]feel[/i] the potential, but it falls a bit flat due to rushed deadlines and executive meddling. It's a fun game and is worth the $20 or so it costs now, but it's nowhere near as innovative or timeless as its predecessor.

As far as I know in Mercs 1 you could actually [I]kill[/I] them, you get some money taken away but they actually died. In the Mercs 2 you get the money taken away but they don't actually die, they just get right back up. You can drop the tactical nuke on them and they'll get back up.

mercs 2 environment is a fuckton less interesting compared to mercs 1 jungle environments usually suck

If you have a buddy who gets it, then it's totally worth it for co-op.

It's not as shitty as everyone says, but wait for Red Faction for PC.

It's awesome, though the game is very unstable.. COOP makes it worth it though.

Summary, yes. Detailed summary- It's a fun game. It has a bunch of bugs and its missing a TON of things that the game really needs. However, its still a sandbox game with a great array of options and endless opportunities for funny moments and just fun gameplay. Definitely worth it, even if its not what it was supposed to be.

Fyi, I got the PC Mercs 2 by "dark" means there isn't really alot of bugs and it is pretty fun. Of course I got rid of it awhile ago. Gonna buy it legit soon. [highlight](User was banned for this post ("Hinting at warez" - Rusty100))[/highlight]
