See, Fallout 3 has this annoying thing where it autoaims at the chest of everyone. So if someone's hiding behind cover it'll aim for their chest, which just means it'll shoot at the wall. This takes that away so you can actually get headshots when shooting out of VATS. Also makes sniper rifles more accurate and shit.

Oh, I am definately getting that then. That also explains where my headshots always miss untill I'm 10 feet away. Honestly I just thought my guns were being shitty.

Ok Fallout keeps crashing on startup, I searched for FFDShow but nothing came up so I don't think it's that. That means it might be my mods. Are any of these known not to work/cooperate with other mods:

Yup I tried launching with only the DLCs, works fine, it's definantly one of the mods.
trial and error, do all the DLC's plus one mod at a time.
FIGURED IT OUT! It was Classic Fallout Weapons and all the Weapon Mod Plugins along with it. If other people are crashing check if you have this mod. My steam friends must be pissed off from seeing "The Fact Engineer is playing Fallout 3" appear like 50 times in a row.
Fallout 3 always randomly crashes whenever I play. I can't find ffdshow and have no mods activated. Also it freezes my computer every time I try to quit.
It's like Fallout 3 doesn't want to be loved.

Happens to me. IMO it's just TERRIBLY designed. Just now it crashed in the beginning when I hit a radroach. Honestly, what the fuck.

Any "stealth kill" mods? I decided to make a character that only kills at night and relies on stealth. It would be cool if I could sneak up on people and stick a knife in their throat. Or maybe a butcher knife/cleaver.
Ok, need some help here. I installed broken steel a few days ago, and did a speed run through fallout 3, and at the ending, for some reason it didn't activate. Apparently you're supposed to wake up on some bed after you activate project purity, but all I got was the normal ending and credits.

Did you activate it in data files? Remember that if you didn't use FOMM it'll uncheck it each time you start Fallout.
Good lord the enemies in Point lookout are strong
I used the god damned infiltrator on a tribal and it took up all of my vats points to get him down to 3 bars
with maxed small guns skill

Really? I use it & the Chinese stealth armor (and the pint-sized slasher mask :v:) and can kill tribals with either 1 sneak attack or a sneak and about 4 extra bullets. And I'm playing on normal.

Sneak up behind him and use pickpocket, then give him a live hand grenade.
Works great, and i don't have to use much ammo at all. Also the dart gun helps TONS.

This thread inspired me to reinstall this game. However, I'm getting shocking performance in it.
I have a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 @ 2.66 GHz, 4 gigabytes of ram, Geforce 9800 GX2, and about 350 megs left over on a 1TB harddisk. I also have Windows Vista 64bit. And yes, I have patched it to 1.6.

I assume that you have SLI in your graphics card(s)? Turn them on in you NVidia control panel if they're off.
What mods do you have in FO3?
What settings do you use?
