My game randomly minimizes when I play quite often. The problem is that I can't maximize it again. The game window turns into a thin bar at the bottom of the screen, and I can still hear the sounds.
Do you have Xfire? With it open, I've noticed a regular mouse cursor flickering on the top left corner of my screen. Clicking while it's up there whether in a menu or for attacking minimises it permanently. Exiting Xfire seems to have solved that problem for me.

Oh yeah, I have xfire. Would turning off xfire in-game for Fallout 3 solve the problem?

Probably yes.
Same thing happens when you run it through Steam.
I already know what I'm going to do with this, but who wants me to nuke The Citadel?

I'd do it once just for the lulz, but re-load your saved game. Having the Brotherhood of Steel pissed at you forever isn't worth it.

Really? I find them unbearable bastards, you're talking to the guy that kills BoS stragglers and steals their helmets and holo-tags as trophies.
Nuke them, it's the merciful thing to do.

And here I thought I was the only one. I used to line up their helmets on shelves but after I ran out of space I started throwing them into one of the Megaton home storage rooms.
I always take any dead ones holotags.
I always take any dead ones holotags.
But their helmets are the closest things to skulls you can take from them! They are much more personal, in my opinion.

you could drag their corpses to a certain spot if you really cared

Now that's just obsessive.
Someone is going batshit insane with rating everyone Polite in every single thread.
I used to play fallout 3 too. But then my computer, the game and some of the mods couldn't come to an agreement and it kept crashing every 10 minutes, so I stopped playing.
Cba to reinstall, just in case there'll be crashing problems again.
I still don't understand why everyone hates them so much.
So they decided to stop being greedy and care about someone else for a change, so what? The normal Brotherhood are assholes anyway. The only extended contact I've had with them was when they all killed each other over the technology in the storeroom at the end of Anchorage. At least the Brotherhood at the citadel are actually doing something constructive.

Those were Outcasts.
Those were Outcasts.
I know that. The Outcasts are the true Brotherhood, because they haven't abandon their original goals.
[editline]05:01PM[/editline]
Another thing that never understood. Shouldn't the Brotherhood be there to try to protect people and take back the country? They were made up of ex-army soldiers, and wouldn't the army want to take back America?
Instead they decided become technology packrats. Killing anyone who got in the way, friend, foe, even each other.
How can I find out what my current companion is? I freed Fawkes and he came with me. Now I fired him and wanted to hire Paladin Cross but the game tells me I can have only one Companion :(

Because they are a bastardization of what the Brotherhood of Steel really is, and what it really should be. In Fallout 3 they are stereotypical pure White Knights, so much so that I feel almost disgusted (actually, I am) around them. Also, the original Brotherhood of Steel were assholes, which is why I liked them so much, the Wasteland is not a place to hold hands and sing koombaya around a campfire.
It's probabily glitching.

No, their idea is that there will always be people, but technology can be lost and forgotten, which is actually an honorable goal in my opinion. Mankind knows how to fuck and have kids, but making a Plasma Rifle or T-51b armor is a little harder then making a kid.
Now I can't even re-hire Fawkes :saddowns:
What can I do -.-
I hate you... you made dogmeat a pack mule.

I gave him some slick leather armour too. >:]

I just copy the ref IDs down and move to
I don't know why, but I've stopped playing Fallout 3 once I got Mothership Zeta, I felt too overpowered in the weapons department, I could kill anything that moves in one or two shots.
Even if I weren't overloaded with weapons, I still wouldn't play it. For some reason the want to play it is gone for me, I've been through countless metros, many streets, the all too samey wasteland, everywhere. Now I'm playing Oblivion more than Fallout 3.
I don't know why, but Oblivion feels more in depth than Fallout 3 both story wise and gameplay wise. I think the side quests are much better in Oblivion because they have their own little stories to them. In Fallout 3 they quests are mostly "Fetch this for me, Kill these creatures, Bring me from point A to point B,"
Oblivion quests are a bit better in that department, for example the Mages' Guild quests, there's one where you need to solve a small puzzle in a ruin. Possibly not the greatest quest, but better than Fallout 3.
tl;dr
The quests in Fallout 3 aren't that good and it gets very samey.
I still like the game though, I spent many hours playing it.
I really wish there was a way to mod Far Cry 2, because a total conversion mod that turned it into a section of the US in the Fallout universe would be amazing. Degenerating weapons and vehicles, vehicles at all actually, overall more realistic everything. Expand the malaria stuff to addiction or disease.
I really hope Bethesda does something similar with their next engine because Gamebryo is getting a bit dated.

I miss the old days of drug addiction in Fallout, where an overdose can kill you.
Also, I can see someone modding the game to include the STALKER drunk system to drinking alcohol in Fallout 3.

They actually already have a mod that blurs your vision, sways your screen, and reverse your controls when you get drunk.
Also, someone made an awe inspiring post-apocalyptic map for FC2

Mind finding a link? I checked FPSbanana and couldn't find anything post-apocalyptic.
