Ah I was reading the Combine Overwiki, and I found out why there were no antlions on Xen when you visit. It's because there were thumpers on Xen (I just can't remember them). [editline]11:24AM[/editline] Oh and also I can't believe I didn't say anything about the GONARCH! EWW. Also, if we are all agreeing on the fact that the Gonarch is where headcrabs come from, that means that there is still one alive, amirite? Also maybe fast headcrabs came from a Fast Gonarch? And poison headcrabs came from a Poison Gonarch. Shit just got epic.
Well, one of my friends doesn't like half life 2 I don't know what's wrong Help me Please :( I'm pour
I know a guy like that. he says it takes too long to get into it. What? Do you get up halfway through a move becuase it takes to long for the action to start? Still some weird and cool aliens would be nice.
Parody? I think not sir. Also I forgot the Icthysaurus

HL2 was a great game, no question about that. It was well-made, well-planned, and it turned out as awesome as possible. Yet I still have some beefs with the way VALVe set up the weaponry. Of all the weapons in the world, we got four different real-world firearms: a H&K USP match, a revolver of some sort (S&W?), a H&K MP7, and a Franchi SPAS-12. Why nothing else? Am I lead to believe these are the only weapons left on earth? In the leak, there was an AK-47 and an MP5K, so I have heard. Those are both excellent weapons for what they do, yet the Combine selected a stubby submachine gun with inferior range and accuracy, an expensive shotgun, and an extremely poor handgun? VALVe, what were you thinking? There's more, better guns in real life. Furthermore, why aren't the rebels using these weapons? Even if the Combine had specific reasons for choosing the weapons they did, I find it hard to believe every single other firearm in the world was dismantled/destroyed. Where did the revolver come from? Evidently, the Combine don't use it. Somebody had to have had one, and presumably used it at some point. Why can't I have an M-16? It makes sense that VALVe would limit selection due to clutter problems, but why not like Smod, where I can swap weapons if a slot is taken? Just a rant about the design of the weapony. Anyone else agree that the armament seemed to have a limited range, no pun intended?

HL2 was a great game, no question about that. I was joking :p
Well you could've explained that to me before :P Text isn't so good at telling someone whether the person they're addressing is joking or not.
Well, they said a bullsqid ate eli's leg wile he was climbing over a city 17 wall, so that must have been in the 10 year period between the black mesa incident and the time when half life 2 takes place. In witch the bullsqids were killed off.

That'd be funny if you accidentally pressed a button on the Aurora and it created a massive portal to the Xen world and a bajillion aliens popped out. Seriously though, I think HL3 would be fucking awesome if its storyline went in two separate directions based on whether or not you used it or blew it up.
Black headcrabs and fast headcrabs are most probably just an evolution of the race more than a synth, but we can't really prove any points..
Interesting point. But why would there be two different types of evolution?
Interesting point. But why would there be two different types of evolution?
Look at our world, quite a few of our species evolved from one base one, I was going to use Humans and a species of monkey/ ape, but I couldn't think well enough.
I'm more concerned with the cut levels more than the creatures. For those of us lucky enough to have read "Raising the bar" (or have the pdf), City 17 looked soooooo much more depressing and post-apocalyptic than the City 17 now. The whole journey was much more complex altogether.

because lazy developers weren't getting paid enough
Antlions are not from Zen
They were from wherever the Vortigaunts were from, which was probably from Xen. I think I'm totally done with antlions in the series. They've been in both episodes AND the original game. I swear if there are antlions in the arctic and at the Borealis I will bust a nut.
I doubt a antlion could survive the arctic since you usually don't find ants in snow. but I hope they include some kind of snow creatures like a alien yeti or something worms that dig under snow

Normal snakes, poisonous/venomous, constrictor, rattler [editline]11:16AM[/editline]
Antlions are not from Zen
No they're from Xen.
You don't get the beta fully legally, but there is the Missing Information mod that contains the content, like I said though, VALVe aren't happy about it.
Thats an odd thing tough ... VALVe is just not happy couse they are selling us back what was in the beta in episodes ... Boralis was in the beta and here it comes back in EP 3 ..

Pedo bear certainly hopes so Anyways, heres hoping we get some hopwire grenades in ep. 3.
Here's hoping we get the barnacle gun and the spore launcher.
Yeah that's why combines are lame, because they are basically just more of us. And the Striders and Hunters are seldom seen really. Especially striders. But anyway, I'm talking about aliens from Xen. Surely, since so many went into Black Mesa, there's got to be more that could've come through. [editline]01:44PM[/editline] Also same for the advisors, sure they're alien, but they've got to be the most suckiest alien ever. They're just a space slug with a little mechanical hand thing strapped to their back that you can't fight, because of it's supreme telekinesis powers. But the aliens from Xen were cool because they were all different, and you had to adapt to each one differently. Whereas with the combine it's just shoot or be shot, there wasn't much about it.
Your avatar makes me say "I'm a woodpecker! 'cept with dirt. " But, yeah i agree. The vorts were one of the cool half life 1 aliens, i'm glad they made it in. Barnacles suck balls. Antlions were'nt apart of the renesonse cascade. The alien grunt- THAT would have been cool in half life 2.
I really wanted to see more aliens in Half-Life 2 as well. This got me thinking about the things yet to be resolved in the Half-Life universe. Also, I think that the Combine synths are human brains put inside a biomechanical shell. I believe I read that in the Combine Overwiki. Correct me if I'm wrong.
