Actually, I changed my opinion.
Left 4 Dead is garbage if you don't have a lot of friends to play it, I particularly find it not fun when I don't have someone to splitscreen with assuming you would get it on console.
Borderlands really is a singleplayer game disguised as co-op and the splitscreen is not fun, thus making it a good PC game.
Forget about Borderlands and pick between L4D2 and Killing Floor instead. Borderlands is both more expensive and nowhere near as good as Killing Floor, but from what I've seen in the L4D2 demo it seems worth its price if you don't mind a bit of repetition.

Left 4 Dead 2 is fun IF you can put up with random idiots. I fucking hate that i'm being mauled by a JOCKEY right infront of someone and he just stands there staring the other way meanwhile Nick is screaming JOCKEY ON ME, GET THIS THING OFF MY BACK!

Kinda hard to pick between the two since they are so different, but I'd go with l4d2 myself since its cheaper, and the passing dlc is coming soon.

Left 4 dead 2. Borderlands is a good game but I have spent WAY more time in L4d 2.
Left 4 Dead 2 was a big dissapointment to me and I have hardly enjoyed it. I prefered L4D for it's better atmosphere, custom campaigns and such and have played it for 138.5 hours.
I've played Borderlands for 65.3 hours and I'm still enjoying it.
I would go with Borderlands as long you have any friends to play it with.
