Making dlc's free. Nobody wants to pay for horse armor.
I will also pay for games which you can frickin mod it. I regret buying clear sky. And a good story/gameplay.
I'll stop pirating when I no longer have to choose between games and food.
I don't pirate games, too much of a hassle.
Since I got Steam I've been trying to stop pirating. whoever, the monetary devaluation and the high prices kinda make me want to change my mind.
Demos. I was going to pirate Dawn of War2. But, then I saw steam had a demo. After 30 minutes or so it was done downloading since steam lets me download at 1.5-2.0 megaybytes per second instead of your average 400kbs down torrent. Played the demo till I beat it, and realized I would have been so pissed if I bought this game. On the otherhand. Got 50$. Went to gamestop, bought merc2. Worst 50$ ever spent and they don't take PC games back. Awesome, I have a really fancy Frisbee now.
When some guy in a suit knocks on my door. that is IF i pirated. becausecomeonwhoseriouslydoesthatnowadays
More goddamn demos. Even if it's only 30 minutes of gameplay, I want to know I want it before I buy it.
Getting caught assuming I did pirate.
You do realize that there's piracy in consoles too right?
Yes, but it's far less common and is easier to protect against.
Try b4 buy. If there are no demo for the game that is. Movies I only pirate when I smell a really bad movie, wouldn't want to pay for something that has no re-view value.
Yes, but it's far less common and is easier to protect against.
Not really, x360's don't even need chips to play pirated videogames.

the only time i have pirated a game: gta 4 for the pc (mainly cause i have it on the ps3 and wanted to try mods (it sucked anyway so i got rid of it and still play on the ps3)) and when i want to try it as a demo, if i like it i'll buy it.
I don't really recall, but didn't games before 2000ish (2003?) have plenty of demos?
Unfortunately the easiest way to reduce piracy is to not develop for the PC. If PC gamers want more games then that has to change somehow.
Nyet. PC people are smart enough to code soft-ware to make console games work on PC
The only thing that would stop me from pirating is that another Spore isn't done. I followed that fucking game since it was mentioned. Then it was released and...and....I... :'(
I'll stop pirating when I no longer have to choose between games and food.
Ding ding ding Some people are broke and don't have 60 bucks to shell out (Yes, I have a job, but I also have bills to pay) Now, if a game was $30 and included a trial, I would seriously consider buying it. The last game I bought was Call of Duty 4 after I played it for a month at a local lan cafe because I liked it so much. That was about a year ago. Still playing COD4 today. Oh wait, I just bought ArmA for 18 dollars. Really good game. Definitely worth the 18 dollars. Especially the zombie mods. Makes the game really fun.
I don't want to pay 110 dollars for a up to six months old game. Also, when developers stop fucking around with the DLC. I know they're greedy bastards, but if those fucks want to get money for 3 halfassed maps they can go fuck an antnest. Also making free worldwide DLC aviable worldwide. How come is someone in America better than I? Tell me, how the fuck does he deserve the free DLC? Seriously Epic, I'd love to punch you in the face.
I have no money The economies hit me hard
Lower prices

No DRM, or at least a better system like steam's

No need for ten screens to sign up and validate the game

It's funny, people pirate games because they cost too much, and game developers raise the price to make up for the money lost from pirates. Vicious cycle.
It's not, really. We have alot of more dedication than the companies. The company will lose a lot of money, and we don't lose any. It's just a big half-circle.
I don't pirate games, why?, because the computer game industry is struggling at the moment because everyone plays consoles I have no problem pirating apps like CS4 because they charge rediculas prices for them (AUS$4k for cs4 master collection? fuck off)
PC games are expensive, and certain companies are stuck in last century regarding pricing and means of distribution whilst acting as if "their consumers" should be licking their boots. Hell, if digital distribution had been embraced by companies sooner by the music & games industry (broadband capacity has been around for quite a while), piracy would never have become the problem it is today.
Reducing the price and demos. It's really just that. The thing is about piracy is that it is convenient and easy. You don't have to put in your personal credentials or walk to a store that is three miles away from you. You can just sit there. Download the .torrent and wait.
Drop the price in half and have an actual fucking demo. I haven't played any new games in a year because there's no demos around so I can try before I buy. I mean, I've seen games that LOOKED good but I wouldn't buy them without trying them first. Oh, and $50-60 is far too much money for a game - I have to spend 1/4 the cost of the system to buy one game?
The only thing that would stop me from pirating is that another Spore isn't done. I followed that fucking game since it was mentioned. We should all take our cricket bats and go to the home of the man who dumbed down spore and go office space on his ass.
A job.
Reduce the prices. Why are games still $90 a year after they're released? Why are they $90 at all? I can buy 3 brand new movies for that price and get more enjoyment out of them. And proper demos, without DRM (You're providing the demo free of charge to everybody, so why add DRM that requires online activation to it?) Edit: And just DRM. I bought the game, stop treating me like I'm a pirate (who isn't treated like a pirate)
If my salary is 10 times more than the cost of a PS3 disc, I buy it, but now my salary is only 3 disc for PS3 :(
I don't want to pay 50 euros for a newly released game. Seriously, wtf?
Agree!
