I don't think it'll be EXACTLY like the movie he might just do a prequel or a totally different story, like he said, its a world where more than one story can be told.

Pretty much both. Most video game plots are very simplistic, around the level of 80's action movie plots. This includes RPGs as well, especially jRPGs where it is pretty much "evil guy decides to ruin the world", maybe with a twist of "evil guy is actually the good guy, the real bad guy is your best friend" or something. There really isn't any game plot that makes you think too hard, it's all very simple.
Of course, I can't say the same for obscure indie games though, as I haven't played too many of those

Anyway, it's too early to judge, it could be very good, or very bad. I just hope it's not just going to be another mediocre game we forget about in a couple days.

I'd be disappointed if it didn't try to plant an idea in the players mind.
There better be multiplayer free mode where everyone has a goal with a randomly generated mission. One person is the architect, the other person is the extractor, etc.

It could be good, but only if they use the root of the idea behind the movie as a part of the game.
It's a good idea, that I think could make a really nice game, even if they add some Inception movie themes to it.
