Guys. Generals match at 6 PM GMT. Lets do it.
So little love for Red Alert 3. Like a Christmas tree.
So little love for Red Alert 3. Like a Christmas tree.
It was pretty bad, especially compared to RA1 and 2. Oh and why did they add Japan? To attract weaboos or something? RA is about USSR vs NATO. [editline]12th May 2011[/editline] Could just have brought back Yuri instead considering he isn't dead.
Eaten by a dinosaur = not dead? Oh wait no locked in the prison.
Klepacki's favourite song for TS
I personally preferred Mutants , dunno why. That song alone ( Well , valves as well , but more mutants) defines C&C:TS for me. Pretty good move , showed me how RA3 was balls-to-the-walls shit and that I wouldn't have to waste my money on it. Upgrading tiers on individual buildings? Hell no. Complete lack of any resource gathering , just stick a refinery right next to a resource station? God no. The list could go on.

Heh, I still have the install files for the beta somewhere.
Not to mention Japanese are extremely underpowered. Only good unit they had was Shogun Battleship. Which was overpowered of course. And since EA makes C&C, campaign sucked of course. How could those little tiny underpowered Japanese become threat to both USA and USSR at once? Well, at least when you play as soviet/american they are. Japanese campaign is all about defence for some reason. You have to defend, defend, defend. With crap units. Campaign coop was good addition though. You at least had someone to whine with other than your comp casemod.
Oh , just a quick mention: Like Command and conquer music? Listen to much higher quality tracks @ Frank's website - www.frankklepacki.com and click on "Launch the Jukebox"
Gamma is long out. Get it at: http://www.apathbeyond.com/ And yeah, Renegade's netcode is... strange. Expect to drive into lots of trees.
Kinda wish I hadn't read the front page. I feel sad now :(
A Path Beyond is fun, when you are a spy, my favourite part was when a moderator on the mp-gaming server gave me a recommendation for being so good at distracting the soviets as they went to look for me in various buildings, only to find me chilling behind their Conyard on Ridge Wars, as a disguised technician. It pissed a couple of people off, but it was well worth it, they were too busy looking for me rather than defending their Tesla Coils and Barracks from the Allied Medtanks and Phase Tanks.
Seriously though, we should play some CnC games later, maybe do a bunch of them. Some Red alert, renegade, generals. It'd be fun.
Generals is probably my favorite CnC game, with Renegade being the second. I never really played the original CnC games back when they were new.
I loved TS and Firestorm, had lots of hours on it. Renegade was hilarious, I enjoyed it a lot and messing around in multiplayer was great. Haven't been keeping up with the fan made mods, kinda just forgot about them.
And the Order of Release is Command & Conquer Command & Conquer Red Alert Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun Firestorm Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge Command & Conquer Renegade
Your missing the expansion that was added to the original game. Command & Conquer: Covert Operations
I didn't add RA or TD expansions 'cause there were a lot of them. I'll do a revised version now that has all the games and expansions
C&C RA1 and RA2 were best C&Cs for me , I still have RA2 cd somewhere
Oh shit they released APB gamma? Time to see what they fixed, it took them 2 and a half years to make it. [editline]9th May 2011[/editline] Also holy shit, C&C Reborn is STILL being made. Talk about dedication, they've been at it since 2001.
I am a beta tester for C&C Reborn, and may I say, we are very close to it's release. Scripts 4.0 is pretty much almost finished.
1995 – Command & Conquer ––1996 – Command & Conquer – The Covert Operations 1996 – Command & Conquer: Red Alert ––1997 – Command & Conquer: Red Alert – Counterstrike ––1997 – Command & Conquer: Red Alert – The Aftermath ––1998 – Command & Conquer: Red Alert – Retaliation 1999 – Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun ––2000 – Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun – Firestorm 2000 – Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 ––2001 – Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge 2002 – Command & Conquer: Renegade
So let me get this straight? This is a megathread right? The games appear to be in chronological order, oh wait, they aren't. Instead their in a quasi-chronological order that uses almsot no logic and leaves out two important games in the series. Try it like this: C&C, RA, TS, RA2, Renegade, Generals, C&C3, RA3, and then C&C4. If you really want you could throw in Sole Survivor after the original Red Alert. Jesus Christ, my favorite game series of all time and you find a way to fuck it up.
How is command and conquer 3 by the way. Only one I have not tried.
How is command and conquer 3 by the way. Only one I have not tried.
Not bad actually (but still nowhere near the real C&Cs), much better than C&C4 (it hurts to call that abomination C&C).
Frank Klepacki himself would be proud.
Frank Klepacki himself would be proud.
Sounds horrible IMO
People should check out Renegade X. Currently, it's playable, but I doubt that there's anyone playing on the servers at the moment. Also.
Is it still possible to download the first C&C game for free? Can't find it anywhere on EA site.
Is it still possible to download the first C&C game for free? Can't find it anywhere on EA site.
Got a present for ya. http://www.gamershell.com/news_41337.html
Frank Klepacki himself would be proud.
Remixes, remixes remixes. Awesome guitar solo at 2:00. (It's from the Tiberian Odyssey mod for TS.)
i lost my CnC The First Decade manual with the codes on it :( i'm dying for some Generals and Renegade action i wish they'd release a "The First Decade" pack on Steam, i'd buy it in a heartbeat
Generals and Renegade are the only C&C games I enjoyed. Am I a bad person?
