Yeeeeah, I really need to buy Generals and the expansion sometime :v:
I read that some people had some problems with lan play in Yuri's revenge. Me and my friend used this http://www.moddb.com/games/cc-red-alert-yuris-revenge/downloads/ra2yr-lan-fix-xp-vista-w7-x86-x64 and it worked.
ANYBODY WANTING TO PLAY GENERALS : ZERO HOUR - SHOCKWAVE
get the fuck on tunngle
So I spent this day testing Shockwave. IT'S FREAKIN' AWESOME and I don't write in caps too often.
So, we have a tie between Tiberian Sun and Shockwave. [img_thumb]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/tick.png[/img_thumb] for Tiberian Sun, [img_thumb]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/information.png[/img_thumb] for Shockwave. [editline]18th May 2011[/editline] Alright, children, get on tiberian sun. One last question, Tiberian Sun or Tiberian Sun: Firestorm?
Firestorm, because its more balanced. [editline]19th May 2011[/editline] Anyhow, how are we going to join? I need to know what we are using and that so I can get my game running.
We're using Tunngle to play the game. I'm gonna be playing Tib Sun: Firestorm over it in a few minutes, if my internet connection decides to work for longer than a minute.
I'll check Tunngle out then and maybe come on later. I'll need to reset my rules file, as I've been changing it to act like a zombie mod or something.
Okay, turns out Tiberian Sun has the same problem as Red Alert 2 for me. It refuses to open up the Network menu, and just sends me straight back to the main menu. No error or anything, just a little flicker as the main menu is reloaded. Fuck this, I'm going on Zero Hour. Edit: Just saw laarg's post, gonna try that fix later. Edit 2: The fix laarg posted works for both Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun! Add me on Steam and get on Tunngle, we'll work a game out. I'm hoping for Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, just without Yuri.
So I went to the store today and bought Command and Conquer the 1st decade... again. I'm NOT losing this disc or the key this time. Don't you love the smell of a fresh game case? The manual and the poster reek of that amazing smell. And what made it even better is the entire electronics section in the store I go to got remodelled so it has that fresh feel and new plywood smell to it. I will install tomorrow, fire it up and spend the rest of the night on a campaign. This series is what got me into PC gaming. I played RA1 all the time with my dad when I was 8. Silos EVERYWHERE and I would replay the demo over and over again just to shoot the barrels.
Even though I'd rather play something like RA2 and above, Its not shit.
RA2 is great I just hate TS.
RA2 is great I just hate TS.
You hate the most atmospheric of all C&C games. ...
This thread motivates me to actually beat the campaigns of Generals and Zero Hour. I played waaaaaaay too many custom games (minimaps, no money, etc).
i remember playing the shit out of defense maps it almost always desynced though which was frustrating
Yeah! Took an hour just to get into an AoD sometimes. Then the AoD itself takes like 2 hours until you get to the fucking wave that is just impossible to kill. Good times.

I remember playing Red Alert 2 erryday.
Downloading Tunngle & Shockwave, anyone interested in playing later?
I wish we could all play on a RA2 server.
Replaying the original C&C on GDI at the moment, last time I played it was around 1995-1996.
I wish we could all play on a RA2 server.
Get the LAN fix that laarg posted near the top of this page and install Tunngle. Problem solved.
The music is a nostalgia bomb.
Act on instinct is the best song in the original C&C. In RA2, my favourite is Destroy I rank it a bit higher than Hell March II.
I thought No mercy was the best song maybe because of my own realization that it quoted Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey ( best film ever IMO ) , maybe because it's the theme of Command and conquer ( You can hear it in all the hell marches , and I'm pretty sure a handful of songs in the Tiberian series ) or maybe because it's just a bit funky
Ok I got Tunngle working, and I am idling in the Tibsun lobby.
This was the music at the matchmaking screen. I've heard this for at least 100+ hours.

I played most of the C&C games before I finally got to Tiberian Dawn. I didn't expect much from it, just standard C&C fare, really. It wasn't insane or dark enough as Red Alert or Tiberian Sun. I didn't expect it to leave much impact after all I went through. I'd never expect it to ever be seen as first C&C in my eyes. And then I heard Act of Instinct. And so it was set, that it was the first C&C that begun it all.
I seriously need to buy the soundtracks sometime.
red alert 2 rts of the year all years
red alert 2 rts of the year all years
Na, Tiberian Sun is superior.
Na, Tiberian Sun is superior.
sorry no, TibSun was good but RA2 was better
